i tried "gambling" and "betting" but neither worked. on a whim, i typed "illegal" and suddenly "gambling" registered as the answer. i think you've got a glitch.

Interesting question! Looking at Wikipedia's articles on each, it seems that racketeering is a wider term that includes activities such as extortion.

Yes, I believe racketeering is the maintenance of a business to carry out various illegal activities. It's fine to have a construction company, but it's racketeering if that construction company is used primarily to facilitate crimes.
