Nice quiz! You wrote as at... did you mean as of (in directions area)

"as at" means that the percentages were those that were current in August 2017.

Yes, but speaking as someone who's worked for Brits more than once, including my most recent job, the term 'as at' is not used in the states. We use 'as of' a certain date.

More people know that Tallahassee is the capital of Florida than know Oklahoma City is the capital of Oklahoma?!? :)

I am 13 and from Germany. And it surprised me that more people are familiar with Tallahassee or Albany than with Pittsburgh or Nashville

The reason is simply because Florida and New York are very populous states. There are probably a lot of New Yorkers and.... people from Florida (I don't know the demonym) who took this quiz!

I know Albany very well, but I guess that's because I'm growing up in Massachusetts.

Albany might also get a boost because it's the first alphabetically, and I'm sure a lot of the quiz-heads around here have an alphabetical list memorized (or are cheating and looking at a list).

Agreed with WolfCam. Far fewer people from Oklahoma taking these quizzes compared to Florida, and people will always guess their home state capital.

I never would have expected the two non-contiguous states to be on here.

I bet it's because they stand out more because they're not contiguous.

I was sure they would be here but I was surprised that Alaska didn't show up until I saw the answers and realized I'd been typing Anchorage. Duh.

I had already made this quiz, so it ticks me off that this was featured even though I made the original, no grudges though.

I actually wrote the original in 2014 - the date you see is of the latest update.

I'm shocked about Juneau. I think if you went up to 10 Americans on the street and asked what the capital of Alaska is you'd only get one or two correct answers

Pretty sure it's because Hawaii and Alaska both are off on their own, many quiz takers start by guessing them first. Also Alaska appears in the 2nd position on a list of states ordered alphabetically.
