Non-Caribbean Countries Closest to the Americas

The Americas are the second-largest landmass on Earth; it could be a giant continent except that is considered to contain two of them. Which are the nearest countries, outside of the Caribbean and Bahamas, to the single landmass of The Americas? Countries that have part of their territory on The Americas' landmass do not count.
Countries in red do not appear in the Countries of the World quiz, but do appear in the Countries 197 to 204 quiz.

Thanks for the quiz and for mentioning me! I would have thought at least one Oceania country would have made it but I see they're not even close!

No - 3786 km / 2353 mi. Japan would get onto this Top 20 if the Japan/Russia territorial dispute over Iturup Island is sorted in Japan's favour.

Arguably France shouldn't be on there, if 'Countries that have part of their territory on The Americas' landmass do not count'.

I would argue that St. Pierre et Miquelon is not part of the American landmass...

I would agree, but I don't think that affects any of the answers.
