Don't know if I am right but I would have though kind is benevolent and kindly is benevolently... and why didnt I try typing yellowtail?!

You would expect the -ly suffix to automatically turn a word into an adverb, but, strangely, kind and kindly are often used as synonyms. Have tightened up the clue anyway.
