Think you can name all 83 Federal Subjects of Russia : the Oblasts, the Krai's, the Republics and the Capital City. Enter your answer into the answer box.
(Excludes disputed territories, ie: Crimea)
North Ossetia should count even without Alania added... and Zabaikal and Primorye are a bad spelling trap. Maybe more accepted versions please? Of course by now there's even two more subjects, Crimea and Sevastopol, up to debate.
Thanks for the feedback. With a lot of these quizzes, im unfamiliar with common bad spellings, and i need these comments to make the quiz as good as it can be. North Ossetia will now be allowed, and Zabaikal, and Primorye also. Thank you.
Accepting Yakutia and Altay might also be a good idea. The exact transliterations from Russian are also a bit different in some word endings, like Adygeya and Nizhniy Novgorod (with an additional i).
Asked Quizmaster about a map quiz for this one and he suggested now that people can create map quizzes on this site that someone do one. Is there anyone a bit more tech savvy than me who would be willing to do it?
Hey Guys, sorry I've been away from the site for probably a year now, and I never got round to fixing all the errors in this quiz. I am not Russian, and I know very little about the Russian subdivisions - the information for this quiz was the result of a quick Google and a scour through Wikipedia. I REALLY DO want to go through and fix this, I'm going to fix whats written in the comments already, and if you want to comment any other errors please do so. I didn't know there was functionality for user created map quizzes, but I am going to look into it. If I cant manage it, I am sure someone will take up the torch. As ever, thanks for playing my quizzes, you guys are awesome.
Not an error, but it would make a lot more sense to accept 'Saint Petersburg' and 'St Petersburg'. I tried all sorts of ways to write it when these didn't work and from the surprisingly low number who guessed I can't be the only one confused.
UPDATED! Absolutely right, I was actually surprised by the comment, because I couldn't believe they weren't accepted type-ins. But its fixed now, thanks for the feedback.
If you're including disputed territories (Crimea and Sevastopol), I specifically state in the description I haven't included them. If there is a particular outcry to include them I will.
