In fact, the "elongated rectangle" hint is not very helpful, as there is a large number of flag in the 1:2 formats and other, which make them look "elongated" - thus, this shape is not really that unusual.

Belgium's flag is often squarish. Not a total square, per se, but less rectangular than others.

Belgium, Niger and Monaco (along with a few others) also have square shaped flags, and the elongated rectangle flags can also be Montenegro, Mongolia, Nigeria, Fiji (also along with a few others). Great quiz idea though!

Sri Lanka should be removed. A flag with a ratio of 1:2 is not at all uncommon. However, flags with ratios shorter than 2:3 are uncommon, as others have mentioned.

The flag of Iran has a ratio of 1 : (75/28)(7√5 − 15) and Togo has a ratio of 1 : (1+√5)/2
