Only missed penguin, didnt have enough time to study it, and with a "flying" bird, penguin isnt the first you think of. I am amazed it beats beaver, which couldnt be more obvious in my opinion, and ray, cheetah and cassowary. Ok cheetah is slightly tricky and I guess people might not be sure how to spell cassowary..
The problem with cheetah and cassowary is that they have a very different name in german (maybe other languages as well) and so even though I recognized the animals and know the translations (sometimes..) they didn't come to mind. I tried variations of Gepard and Kasuar (geparde, casuar..)
Btw the dromedary camel looks like its downstairs neighbour the ostrich, with an extra set of legs haha, once you see it..
plus my first thought of the hippo was capibara, also so stout, and boar crossed by mind after. (These were initial thoughts/reflexes before closer inspection)
edit: ow and corgi haha with the short legs and big butt, that was before I saw the "face"
That's because he was a handler and grappler of animals and not a true animal carer such as David Attenborough, who believes in leaving creatures alone and filming their lives, not wrestling and picking up and playing with them.
Phew, managed to get them all but tougher than I thought. Thanks for the piece of wood - I kept thinking that one was a wombat or capybara until it finally clicked.
The big flat one I had no idea at all for! Makes sense now that I've seen the answer though. I eventually figured out that one is a big cat, didn't have enough time left to get to the right one though unfortunately. This was fun!

I had no idea what I was looking at with the 7th picture. I just couldn’t get my head round it at all.
One small quibble: I put seal for sea lion and it was accepted. They're different families, aren't they? But maybe they look the same unclothed...
Great quiz though. Thank you.
