Name the national animals of countries throughout the world, with hints for some of the more specific answers.
Some answers here are not national animals in an 'official' sense, but are widely regarded as such.
Those marked as 'None' either have little information available about their national animal, or conflicting views on what their national animals might be.
Wikipedia was used when available, but they did not have information about every country.
As a disclaimer, this quiz took a lot of research, so there may be mistakes. Unfortunately, the information available on Wikipedia is somewhat limited. For some countries, I had to search for their national animals elsewhere, and only included them if the source seemed reliable (e.g. official government website - the Caribbean nations were particularly good at this!).
However, if you notice something wrong with the quiz, and can provide sufficient evidence for a country's national animal, I would be very happy to add that information to the quiz. Just keep it civil!
Just to let you know, the UK is actually 4 countries. Each has their own national animal. You have listed England's national animals as the whole UK's. As someone from Scotland we don't take too kindly to that lol. Scotland's national animal is the unicorn :).
It's very common to use the word countries to refer to sovereign states, which this quiz is doing (and quizzes across this website do, as you can see in the Countries of the World Quiz).
I do agree that the national animals for the UK should be changed since it seems like there isn't one for the UK as a whole. I would suggest just changing it to "none" because including the national animals of subdivisions could get messy.
