not sure where yiddish comes in... and it's really Oranje, not Orange, that is the translation.

I imagine the "yiddish" answer is due to the lack of "y" in dutch words.

Also, the correct name of the former currency is "gulden". I'm quite surprised that no attempt was made to anglicize Maastricht, Rotterdam or Amsterdam.

Technically, Nederlands-Indië was a former colony, not Indonesia.
