German/Austrian School Literature

I tried to pick the most popular work from each author, though I am not sure if those are the same in the US as they are in Europe. This does not necessary mean, that the author was german/austrian, but that those books are commonly read in german speaking schools. (I tried to use the english translations, if possible.) yes, we've actually read the play "Die heilige Johanna der Schlachthöfe" - "Saint Joan of the Stockyards" though I thought the three penny opera would be more popular in the english speaking world.
