I tried to pick the most popular work from each author, though I am not sure if those are the same in the US as they are in Europe. This does not necessary mean, that the author was german/austrian, but that those books are commonly read in german speaking schools. (I tried to use the english translations, if possible.)
Good Luck!
yes, we've actually read the play "Die heilige Johanna der Schlachthöfe" - "Saint Joan of the Stockyards" though I thought the three penny opera would be more popular in the english speaking world.
I think translating the titles into English wasn't a good idea. It's hard to identify books like "Jugend ohne Gott" when you refer to it as "The Age of the Fish". In retrospect I remembered that the teacher (or was it the preacher?) talked about people being fish. I think this quiz would be much better if you had made it wholly in German. Apart from that, I really like the idea! You made a good selection.
:) hope you liked it!
