5 Largest Cities by Country on the Borderless Map of Europe in Order
The black dot in each country indicates its largest city. Type its name: this will make a dot appear at the location of the 2nd largest. Keep going, listing the top 5 for each country.
UrbanArea population according to citypopulation.de (reference date 01.01.2017) for cities with population >= 1M, geonames.org for smaller ones
The answers with a red border are urban agglomeratios without a main city!
Limitations: cities that have a larger city within 50 km are excluded; cities with population under 50k are considered only if they are one of the two largest of their country; Russian cities are included only if they are west of Urals
Typing the smallest city of a country will turn green the dot of the largest city
Great quizz. Love it! The only problems I see is that the capitals don't turn green once guessed, and that perhaps some of the cities are too obscure to guess (I'd cut the last cities from the smaller countries)
The thing with 50 km is a good way of making sure that two cities of the same urban area don't turn up. But it does destroy some cities that should be valid: In Belgium, Brussels detroys Charleroi, Gent and Antwerp who are all 45-50 km away. But they are in completely different parts of the country and completely different cities. Liege is destroyed by Aachen that is not even in the same country. The same is for Malmö, Sweden and Copenhagen, Denmark. Maybe you could at least add cities if there are in different countries...
great quiz, however a lot of the cities are in the wrong position, riga, reykjavik, madrid, and dublin are some examples. i think it would help some people complete the quiz as they know the map better than the cities. nothing else wrong with it just a suggestion :)
