1) initial letters have been placed by making chess knight-moves moving from one to the next one - so for example the country starting with B is one knight-move away from the country starting with A and one knight-move away from the country starting with C 2) cells with an orange border contain the first and the last answers in alphabetical order 3) cells with a blue border contain countries beginning with a unique letter (in the sense that no other country in the world starts with the same letter) 4) no row and no column contains two countries from the same continent 5) there are no multiple word countries 6) all island countries have different name length 7) all landlocked countries have different name length 8) horizontally adjacent countries have different name length 9) no continent has 3 answers with the same name length
