Brilliant. It's amazing how you doubt and second-guess yourself right to the end! A joint effort here got us all in under ten minutes, but doubt either of us could do it alone - that's the next challenge.
193/196!!! I'm v happy with that, missed Liechtenstein because the normal quiz accepts Litchenstein as an answer so I've adapted to that spelling:(. Then missed Malta and Grenada which just didn't appear on the map I had in my head ;p
The least guessed state is Kyrgyzstan, and I think it's because this test is quite strict with the spelling. I would suggest allowing the variations allowed in other tests such as Kyrgystan, Kyrgyztan, Kyrgistan, ...
I got 190 but forgot France, Greece and Papua New Guinea somehow. Also I think Republic of the Congo should accept "Republic of Congo" which I erred because of.
Love this - it is a great follow-up to the one with the map. I have my own little strategies in my head. I do Europe alphabetically (3 As, 4Bs, 2Cs, etc.) and the same with the Caribbean islands. Almost everything else is with a map in my head except for Oceania. I use 2 mnemonics - Papa's pal Sam sold Tonga to Vanuatu and fuzzy kittens make many nervous. And then I just throw in Australia and New Zealand.
This is great even if you give me an empty map or list of countries it is too easy and can get them all without too much effort. This one I need to concentrate hard to not miss any.
Missed the Bahamas, the Philippines, and Equatorial Guinea, the latter because I thought I had typed it in already. The Bahamas just can't make it onto my mental map despite the fact that they are one of the three (hopefully soon to be 4) countries I have visited.
I always forget Bangladesh eq. Guinea and Gabon. Also missed Maldives and East Timor. Also you should accept myanmar for Burma, PNG, for Papua New Guinea, eswatini for Swaziland, and FSM for micronesia
I can honestly say that this is my favourite quiz on JetPunk. Both the amount of memory practice it provides and the ease with which it makes all the countries appear in my mind on the map account for the high quality of experience for me.
Also, after a full year of going at it from time to time, the unthinkable finally happened! I have just missed my own country ;_;
Is there a way to make it (using some HTML and CSS) so that the user doesn't know how many countries they have guessed nor the amount of time they have remaining? That would be really cool. Great quiz!
You're doing great quizzes, scambigol. Pretty challenging.
on the other side of things, only missed "Malaysia, Malta, Tonga" on my first go.
Are You KIDDING ME??
Also, after a full year of going at it from time to time, the unthinkable finally happened! I have just missed my own country ;_;
