Penalizing wrong answers is a great idea to discourage blind guessing. However, it can't be used if answers are Dominican Republic or Guinea-Bissau, and Dominica and Guinea are not answers.

true, so I had to come up with a theme that would avoid that problem :D

The idea came to me when I saw many people complaining about having ample time to guess an entire continent for a specific theme. I often fill in loads of answers that are incorrect :)

I guesses the right answers, but clock just kept on going. Isn't it possible to stop the clock when the small countries are listed?

I did create something similar, the "Hangman Game" series. Like this, it required an honor system. There are still, even then, the people who don't understand the instructions or decide not to follow them. I agree to inquiring QM on losing some or all time with incorrect answers, but it will take lots of work I'm sure :)

I guessed 'Guinea-Bissau', but 'Guinea' showed up before I could type 'Bissau'; re-typed 'Guinea-Bissau' but also too big. The other 'too big' countries I guessed were Lesotho and Togo. :)
