Would silk not also fit perfectly for the clue "luxurious, shiny fabric". It obviously doesn't fit with the city but its tough to get the city before both words.
Soot is from smoke. Ash is left over when you burn something. That's why a woodstove has an ash pan in the bottom with an ash scoop in an ash pail beside it.
Yea you mean cigaretash. Ash is what you get when you burn wood. Dust is generally made up from skinflakes and pethair, and you need to vacuum because of it. I hope you dont vacuum the fireplace !
I'm embarrassed to say that I always thought Tel Aviv was the capital of Israel. I agree with Kalbahamut, too little time -- this kind of puzzle takes a bit of thought.
Okay, I'll submit a couple more minutes. Apart from one capital city, all the others are sitting below 30%, so it is proving quite tough in just four minutes.
Since Jerusalem is disputed territory pretty much all foreign governments do not recognize it as the capital of Israel. The Knesset (Israeli seat of government) is there, but most if not all foreign embassies are located in Tel Aviv.
I don't think knead/massage works for rub. Rub is touching the surface and with massage/knead you manipulate the matter underneath not the surface. Stroke comes closer to rub. My first guess was mix, and i couldn't think of anything else that could represent knead.
This was hard! I couldn't figure out any of the cities—not one—until I actually typed the letters into the answer field, taking (generally) one letter from the left and one from the right. Then the answer leaped out at me.
All of the clues are fine. It just takes some thinking about to get these correct in the time given. It is a tough quiz, but it is not unfair or inaccurately clued.
is it really accurate to describe a tie as a man's garment? even if it's more commonly worn by men, i don't think that need be part of the definition, 'neckwear' is probably sufficient. just feels a bit outdated
