Love this idea! Can you add more time?

Agreed. Enjoyed it but would have liked more time to get them all.

That's not much time to do all that, since many of the answers aren't very clear (hotel employee could be any number of answers, it's just trial and error to figure out it's maid).

Got 'em all this time. This one seemed much easier for me than the first quiz. I did horribly on that one.

Yeah, kiwirage, done several of these now, and us mere humans need more time. I really think the stats skew because of people taking them over and over. But I really do love these!!!

Still love them! STILL need more time! The percentages should show you that no one is able to get to much of the country unscramblings.

I may be wrong, but I thought I read somewhere on this site that stats are only counted the first time a quiz is taken, so repeats shouldn't make any difference. Does anyone else know for certain?

Normally retaking a quiz doesnt change the stats. I am not sure what happens with the stats when a quiz is reset. I had to redo this one, it was on 0 points though I had taken it before. Edit: I am assuming the stats were reset aswell, since I don't see 50% but all my answers are 100%

Ggrrr sAnk. I tried, Sink and Sunk and couldn't understand what else it could be. Sunk didn't occur to me. Doh.

I typed tyre and it was accepted as a type-in for the US spelling.

The Titanic did sink. The Titanic didn't sank.

Same issue here. Better phrasing would be "what happened to the Titanic" - it sank. What the Titanic did - was sink. The difference is important.

I tried sink too but then rethought the question: what did the Titanic do? It sank. It's fair enough

loved the quiz!

didn't get a lot at first because i keep on forgetting that i need to consider tenses when answering :((

for example: i entered 'sink' instead of 'sank',

'dim' instead of 'dims' etc.

so i thought i'd answered wrongly :((

''Sank'' would not be a correct answer anyway. You would never say ''The Titanic did sank''

Dim ... no, huh? Rereads the question, ahhh ofcourse. Dimmer. No, huh what?!? Switch? No, then I think I tried another synonym which I cant remember atm, and even started thinking about snuffing out a candle but kept coming back to dimmer and didnt get why that wasnt the answer. Think I tried dimmed aswell.

(and please no smartass replies like then it wouldnt fit the country, or make up a new country like "since when is maldivemer a country.." (and automatically I read that in a very annoying voice) because I hadnt guessed that yet, obviously..)

perhaps not my brightest moment ;) but an ambiguous clue which could be read like I did. And once you are stuck on a noun, thinking about a thing that turns the lights down, it is hard to get away from that train of thought.

you need to use crossword logic on these quizzes. Always always always match the tense of the question. Turns down the lights wouldn't be "dim" it would be "to dim" or "dims." If the clue wanted "dim" it would have been written "Turn down the lights" without the 's'.

Part of doing well on these quizzes is understanding grammar. There's nothing at all confusing with that clue.
