Comboio is the correspondent to the english word train, in the Portuguese speaked in Portugal, so some 11 million people, at least, use it with the meaning of train; I cannot accept library for livraria since the latter is correctly translated to bookstore or bookshop in English (both accepted in the quiz), and the former is translated, also correctly, to biblioteca, in Portuguese.
Of course portuguese was born in Portugal, but at the moment that Portugal decided to Colonize and Impose their language in the brazilian territory, it became OUR language too. I wouldn't say brazilian portuguese is more important than the european one, but *AS* important as the european one!
Indeed. Usually, In Brazil, dog is translated to cachorro, but in Portugal it is translated to cão, where cachorro means puppy. Thanks for your comment.
Olá kimzz, tenho uma sugestão, muitos brasileiros não sabem o que a palavra comboio significa (além de muitos gringos que aprendem o português brasileiro), se possível você poderia colocar ambas as palavras no quiz? Por exemplo Comboio/trem
Muito obrigado pelo seu comentário e pela sua sugestão. Como comboio estava originando muito debate entre falantes do português brasileiro e do português europeu, eu resolvi substituir a palavra por outro meio de transporte: avião.
Thanks for your comment.
