Have you missed these awesome quizzes? #4 - French create good quizzes!

+12

Just a little note before starting: I wrote "French" in the title, because the maximum length for the title was too short, but I mean here "French speakers" because, as you will discover in a few minuts, if there are French users mentioned in this blog, there are also Canadian and Swiss ones for example. Thanks for understanding!

I noticed that most of the non-English speakers users have many difficulties to be present on the English section, so I decided to help them a little bit. I start today with French speakers, because it's of course the JetPunk section that I know the most, but I'll try to "help" other sections too in a near future.

Oh, and something else, sorry... As you have probably seen, the previous HYMTAQ has been published around five months ago, because I thought with spotlights, this series lost all its interest. But I realised that it's not really the case, because the quizzes spotlighted are often based on the same concepts, and we sometimes loose the kind of originality we habitually like, although they are beautiful, with very precise maps. I hope here, the quizzes mentioned are really original. Plus, many of the quizzes previously presented got impressive results, with huge gains of nominations, and some features!

My opinion: I must precise something important with this first quiz: it's the first SVG created by Chapa. In my opinion, it's just amazing to start to use SVGs with a quiz like it. The map is beautiful, it's also stylised, with a very well represented tour, and somme little effects which are funny to see, like G-clefs to symbolize the begining and the end of the tour on the map, and also the Mozart's signature. This quiz mix culture and geography, and it's beautiful: you have to try it.

My opinion: Being completely honest, I can't understand why this quiz doesn't have more nominations. The concept is very original: you have to guess which capital city is represented by each point, on an empty map, so complete your route. And here, it's a randomized version! The route change each each time! You can travel through all Europe, trying this quiz several time. I love the concept, and I love good concepts which have been randomized (like Find the mystery ... using color clues, or more recently Category Elimination), so I definitely recommand you this amazing quiz!

My opinion: Once again, I've to precise that this quiz is the first SVG made by its creator for JetPunk. And once again, it begins very well! It mixes geography and History, for our pleasure. The concept is simple, but it's, in my opinion, funnier with these cities, because it's a bit more difficult than when it's with modern cities, and we have to use our History knowledge. A great quiz you should try!

My opinion: I must present a quiz about France in this blog, of course. It's once again a map quiz with points, but here you have to place landmarks, and not cities. In my opinion, the difficulty of this quiz is perfect for non-French users, because most of the landmarks which are present are famous in all the world because France is the best country for travellers, better than all other countries. I'm pretty sure you will agree to say this quiz deserves more. And if you are stupid and hate France, you can try the italian version! Excellent too.

My opinion: One of the better presented here, I think. On a basic world map are represented 50 elements of physical geography, and you have to guess what they are. Islands, archipelagos, lakes, rivers and mountain ranges, you will have to know elements in all these categories to finish the quiz! The answers are very well chosen, for a total of around 225 possible answers! The replayability is of course excellent. And if you want to learn elements separately, this series is for you!

N.B.: GeoPhilia created a similar quiz, but not about physical geography. You can try it if you like the idea!

My opinion: I wrote it in the previous HYMTAQ, the goal of this series isn't to promote exclusively quizzes with SVGs, so here is a simple text quiz. Simple, but original. For each answer, a number is given, with a category, for example, "800" and "inhabitants". You have to find the corresponding country. Here it's of course Vatican City, but some of the answers are more original again. The only regret I have about this quiz is that two countries appear twice, but it's not a reason to not try it. Plus, there is also a capital version!

My opinion: I'm French, so why not...? To be completely honest, I started to create like this one, with Asterix and Tintin in 2020, with basic world map, but when I saw what overtired did for James Bond and Indiana Jones for example, I decided to "modernised" my quizzes, and to create some others, with illustrations, like the beautiful ones drawn by overtired (but less beautiful than those of our master, of course). I created other quizzes following this concept later, but the Poirot one is still one of my favorite, maybe because i just love this fictionnal character.

My opinion: I know that there is a featured world version of this idea, and I also know that KoljiVriVoda created a similar quiz like two years before Pifeger, but honestly, I really prefer this version. First because the map is better, in my opinion, and then because the quiz is "complete". Sometimes, the notion of "mountain ranges" can be sorta subjective, but I think that Pifeger made very good choices for this quiz. With 59 answers, the quiz has a good difficulty level. Oh, and this quiz was also the first quiz of its creator with a SVG. Very impressive, no?

My opinion: You said it, you want text quizzes presented in this series of blogs. Here we have a text quiz with pictures. But animated pictures, please! The idea works very well, in my opinion. I don't know how it works in term of rights for quizzes like this one, but I know that country flag-shapes, like in the famous series made by KoljiVriVoda, but moving, are very funny!

My opinion: You like rugby and geography? So this quiz is made for you! The advantage of this quiz is that we can use our geography knowledge, using the map, to finish it, but also the informations we maybe know about rugby. Plus, excepting NBA, quizzes about sports aren't the most cmmon on JetPunk. Something original, and which mixes themes! Note that you can also try the soccer version (at the begining, I wanted to present this quiz, but Jiaozira made their own version too, so rugby was a better choice).

It's the end of this HYMTAQ! I'm pretty sure you spent all your nominations, now... Plus, as you have probably already noticed, there are now ten quizzes, and not only five like in the three first blogs of this series. I hope you prefer it!

As always, how many of these quizzes did you know before reading this blog? And how many of them have you nominated now?

Have a nice day, and don't forget to use your nominations if you find good quizzes, in your JetPunk adventure...!

P.S.: I'm pretty sure I forgot something... Hmm... Oh, yes! Vive la France et vive la francophonie!

France is great, but as an American who tried to learn French at the age of 8, lost interest, and 4 years later discovered the beauty of Italian, I think Italy is better. Not only is the language amazing, but the cities (other than Rome), history, culture, and food is stunning. Don’t be offended because France is my second favorite country and excels in many of the categories I listed.

To be completely honest, if I'm patriotic and love France, Italy is probably my second favorite country too. The cuisine is really interesting (less than French one, but interesting...), the culture is very impressive, with many ancient monuments,... So I partially agree with you.
