Interview of a JetPunker #21 - Mewthree

Hello dear JetPunkers!

Yes, I know, it has been a long time. I'm sure that the half of you had forgotten about this series. I don't want to give you details, it would be too long and boring, but I had my reasons (not exclusively due to my timetable...). However, I hope you will be happy to read this 21st interview!

This time, I'm glad to publish something about a JetPunker that I admire: Mewthree. And a quick spoil before starting, that should make our dear Quizmaster happy: Mewthree isn't French but... Belgian!

baptistegorce: Hi Mewthree! Ready to go for an interview?

Mewthree: Yeah, why not?

baptistegorce: Perfect, so we will start it immediately!

Mewthree: Okay.

baptistegorce: Let’s start this interview! First, could you present yourself on JetPunk quickly for our readers who don’t know you?

Mewthree: Hello, I’m Mewthree, 26, a Belgian and Italian user. I discovered JetPunk back in 2015, when the « Name the first 151 Pokemon » challenge was raging on on the French Youtube, and I never left it. I like making all types of quiz (except SVG, I tried but that’s not mys cup of tea), as long as I find the subject interresting personnaly. They are, except two of them, all in French. I also like making/organizing games so JetPunk is the perfect website for someone like me.

baptistegorce: You are one of the French-speaking JetPunk users with the most takes. What are your feelings about it?

Mewthree: Well, obviously I can’t say I doesn’t feel grateful that so many people had taken one of my quizzes. But honestly, I think I would feel the same if I had only 25 takes. As long as the users have fun taking the quizzes I made, I’m happy. That sounds maybe a bit cheesy but that’s it. I can only say « thank you » to everyone that got me here. 

baptistegorce: The Pokémon license played an important role in your JetPunk life. Could you explain why?

Mewthree: I am a huge Pokemon fan. I grew up watching the anime, playing the games and I even tried playing strategy. Making quizzes about it was natural from that point. It even made me discover JetPunk in a way or another. Would I be here without Pokemon ? Probably, probably not, I don’t know.

baptistegorce: Would you have a great but underrated Pokémon quiz to share with us?

Mewthree: Every quizzes I made (I’m joking). If I must say one that I enjoyed but is clearly underrated… Well, there are two that comes to my mind : « Le Jeu des Badge » from Gibe85 « Pokémon aléatoire avec des lettres manquantes » from Ravisseur. The first one has more than 300 takes but it’s a really low number of takes compared to the work it took to make it. The second one has only a little bit more than 50 takes (and 7 by me only) and that’s nealy criminal cause it’s a fun quiz. Difficult but fun. I can also say that some of yours (Pokémon by Chemical Elements) are on the list too.

baptistegorce: I'm honoured, thank you very much. Something else, now: you are part of the few users that have several featured quizzes (in an “important” language), but also with an unfeatured quiz which have more takes than all of these. How could you explain it?

Mewthree: It was already one of the most popular quiz I made. Then, I saw that a known French Twitch streamer took the quiz live. Thank lord he liked it. And it seems his followers liked it too because the numbers of takes kept increasing by the day. But I never expected to see it gain that level of popularity, until the day it surpass the featured quiz that had been first for a long time. That was quite surprising but well, that makes me happy anyway. So thanks to them for liking this quiz this much.

baptistegorce: A few weeks ago, you took part in the creation of the French Harry Potter anniversary badge, which recently kinda met success thanks to some videos. Could you quickly explain this project? What are your feelings about it? You created your very first Harry Potter quizzes for this special occasion. Was it a good experience?

Mewthree: The team got in touch with me - and you were part of it, remember ? - for adapting one of my quiz for the project. At the end, we couldn’t make it with this type of quiz but that lead me to accept the invite and take part of the project. Making 25 quizzes to get an unnoficial badge for the 25th anniversary of the book series was (it still is) a great idea that got me interrested right away. I’ve loved the Harry Potter saga since I was 7, so it was an honor for me. I can’t thank you and the others members of the team enough for allowing me to take part in the project. As for the first Harry Potter quiz, it was a good experience. I love Harry Potter but I never made a quiz about it, merely because there were so many already. But that was fun, no doubt about it

baptistegorce: I can confirm that is was a really good experience, yes. And what is your own quiz you are the proudest of?

Mewthree: That is a bit difficult to answer. Just for bragging, « Elements or… Pokemon » because I made it in an hour or so after Anna asked us if anybody could adapt it. Obviously that’s a joke. Maybe my « Mots Croisés ». It’s quite long to make, yet simple, and I always have fun making it. And it generally is well-recieved, so that adds more fun in creating it. I should say the first one about the fictionnal places is the one I am the proudest.

baptistegorce: I agree, undeniably and excellent quiz. And what about your next quizzes? Do you have big projects of quizzes in preparation?

Mewthree: Not really. I think I will make some quiz to complete some series I made. If I have a good idea, it will be taken into consideration but at the moment I have none. I would like to adapt one of my series in Italian but I don’t think I’ll do it anytime soon. Honestly, I am a little more focused on my blogs about wrestling, football and, why not, other topics to come?

baptistegorce: That's always an excellent news to learn that new great blogs will be published in our dear French section! What is the most important event in your own life of JetPunker?

Mewthree: Obviously, the first featured quiz. I remember when it happened and where I was, I was really happy about it. That meant more people could have fun with one of my quiz.

baptistegorce: If you had to resume your JetPunk adventure in one word, what would it be?

Mewthree: Exciting. I have the same thrill in making quizzes today as I had back in 2015. One of the funniest things I ever did.

baptistegorce: Would you change something to tour JetPunk adventure, if it was possible?

Mewthree: I am quite satisfied with my adventure. I could possibly star making SVG maps or making quizzes in English but I feel it’s not my place to be.

baptistegorce: If you had to choose just three JetPunker for their quizzes, who will it be?

Mewthree: I like a lot of them. Every quizmaker has a personnal touch I find interresting. I feel like naming Elboy first, just because he is the author of the Rebus Series that I absolutely love. He also made a lot of fun quizzes and I really love it. I guess you make the list too, even if will take me thirty years to complete all of your quizzes. I like Gibe85’s quiz too, it’s always fun to take it. But everyone is great. I could name Tottenham63, Stewart, Scambigol, Jiaozira… But I must choose three so here is mys choices.

baptistegorce: Once again, I'm honoured to be part of the list. And be ready to complete all of my quizzes... And for their blogs?

Mewthree: Well, you of course, as you are the one I read the most. I must name two blogs I found the most interresting. The « 15 merveilles naturelles » by Vic1452, and « The Lost Treasure in United Kingdom » by Yesse03. They are not quite actives (Yesse is only beginning the series though) in the blog section but… Go and read it, you will not be disappointed. They’re my two other pics.

baptistegorce: Je vais vraiment finir par rougir, décidément... Merci! And what are your passions in life, except JetPunk?

Mewthree: We already spoke about Pokémon and Harry Potter. I like reading, fantasy stories are my favourites. I love reading mangas too. I love animated movies/series. I am not quite a Cinema lover, except for animated movies, and I am currently watching every movie I haven’t watch yet. I love history too. I like historical documentaries or historical YouTube Channel just because knowing the past is something i find fascinating. In sports, I like football and I follow the NBA league from afar. And I have a passion for wrestling, since 2004 and it never faded.

baptistegorce: You are one of the most active members of the French JetPunk Discord server. What do you think about this server?

Mewthree: It’s a good place, with good, cheerful people. I am happy to be part of it and I hope I don’t bother the other members with my awful puns (lol). I think it’s a safe place for me and I hope I contribue enough to keep it safe for others too.

baptistegorce: What do you hope for JetPunk development in the next months?

Mewthree: I don’t know. New features are always welcomed but that means a lot of work for the ones who elaborate them, so patience is a good friend. What I wish for JetPunk is having more and more users around the world to make the website bigger day by day. I sincerely think that everybody here wishes the same thing

baptistegorce: To conclude, do you have a message to pass to the whole JetPunk community (or at least to the few users reading these blogs…)?

Mewthree: Have fun ! For the quizmakers, if you don’t have fun making a quiz it won’t be good. That’s what I personnaly think. For the ones who only play, have fun too, obviously. Be good to us too, we make quizzes for you to spend a good time playing on JetPunk, and that means a lot of work for us. And last but not least, always be yourselves. Don’t bother by the way they look at you, because sooner or later you will find someone who will see you as you really are.
