September '22 CQMB: Major DCEU Delays, She-Hulk, & More

Shazam! 2 and Aquaman 2 Delays

Predictable. Warner Bros. Discovery delayed both Shazam! Fury of the Gods and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Some reports say that recent decisions made by Warner Bros. Discovery has made an influence of the reason for these delays. Cancellations and shelvings have caused a loss in money. Shazam! Fury of the Gods was originally slated for June 2, 2023, then pushed up to December 16, 2022, but recently moved back to March 17, 2023, which replaces Aquaman 2’s release. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom has gotten moved to December 25, 2023, over an entire year apart from where it was originally slated for December 16, 2022.

Fantastic Four & Avengers: The Kang Dynasty Land Directors

Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings (2021) director, Destin Daniel Cretton, has been chosen to direct the 2025 movie Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. Jon Watts was initially set to direct the upcoming Fantastic Four movie, but following the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home he announced the he would no longer be the director for this film. Names were rumored for the mantle, such as John Krasinski, Bryce Dallas Howard, and even Steven Spielberg. But recently it was officially announced that Matt Shakman, the director of WandaVision, will be in charge of directing the Fantastic Four reboot.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law Debuts

Two of the nine episodes of the She-Hulk series have debuted onto Disney+ this August. The series will conclude in the middle of October. Comment your thoughts on the series so far!

Spider-Man: No Way Home - The More Fun Stuff Version Releases Tomorrow!

The extended version of Spider-Man: No Way Home is releasing Friday, September 2. This edition of No Way Home will include eleven extra minutes of footage. Are you going to see this in theaters? I might. Comment if you’re planning on watching this fun stuff.

The Batgirl movie is canceled, but that’s not it

Unfortunately, the Batgirl film has been canceled. Warner Bros. Discovery reportedly stated that they’re wanting to make big blockbuster movies, and Batgirl is not that. Test screenings had been done before the movie’s cancellation, which did not turn out so well. The results of the test screenings were poor, which influenced the cancellation of the film. Leslie Grace’s adaption of Batgirl will unfortunately never be seen in theaters or HBO Max. At first, it was up in the air on whether the Batgirl movie would be leaked on YouTube. But recent reports state that the movie has been deleted by the people working on the film. So it seems that we will never get to experience what the movie was wanting to bring to the big screen. And it seems we won’t be seeing Michael Keaton’s new adaption of Batman either. More about this in the next headline.

Ben Affleck is BACK!

Behind-the-scenes footage posted on Jason Momoa’s Twitter shows Ben Affleck on the set of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, presumably featuring in the movie’s post credits scene. It has been reported that Ben Affleck will be returning as Batman in the DCEU. Back in 2019, Ben Affleck stepped down from The Batman. The storyline, along with the cast were replaced for a new movie that released this year in March starring Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne. Now that it seems that Ben Affleck is returning, that is bad news for people who were looking forward to Michael Keaton taking up the role as Batman in the DCEU. His role in The Flash has not yet confirmed to be cut out, however the plans for him to take on the mantle for the DCEU have been unofficially terminated.

Thor: Love and Thunder headed to Disney+ this month!

It’s a mighty time for Disney+. Not only will She-Hulk be releasing episodes every week, but you will be able to enjoy Thor: Love and Thunder when it premieres on September 8.

No Significant Quizzes Will Be Released this Month

Seeing how the next big movie release is Black Adam in late October, there will be no quizzes to make a quiz on this month. The She-Hulk: Attorney at Law Quiz will release following its finale debut in October as well. Nonetheless, there may be some small quizzes that will be posted. A “Category Elimination - Marvel Movies #2” is currently in the works, although I am not sure when I will post it.

Claptime’s Quizzes & Monthly Blog Will Return in October!

CQMB will return for another edition on October 1 with more news and updates for quizzes. Make sure to stay tuned for that.
