NFL Conference Championship Reactions & SUPER BOWL PREDICTIONS!!

The NFC Championship was between the San Francisco 49ers and the Philadelphia Eagles. The game opened evenly, and both teams scored early making the game tied at 7-7. A Brock Purdy fumble would then change the whole game. The Eagles would recover and that changed the entire momentum of the game. Brock Purdy suffered an elbow injury during the fumble and was replaced by Josh Johnson. Johnson played poorly, and the Eagles took advantage, taking a 21-7 lead at halftime. After Johnson himself suffered a concussion and was taken out of the game, Brock Purdy returned, but he was not playing like himself. It was obvious that the injury was still affecting him in that almost every 49ers offensive play was a handoff. The Eagles took advantage of Purdy’s inability to throw, and ultimately won the game 31-7. This is Philadelphia’s first Super Bowl appearance since the 2017-18 season, and they’re looking tough to beat. Unfortunate circumstances for San Francisco today, they really had a lot of potential. Their winning streak was incredible, and what Brock Purdy was able to do in his rookie year was absolutely amazing. Credit to the 49ers for an amazing season, and Congratulations to the Philadelphia Eagles on becoming the 2022 NFC champions!

The AFC Championship was between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Kansas City Chiefs. The game was a predominantly defensive contest, as there was only one touchdown in the first half. At halftime, the Chiefs led 13-6, and anything could still happen. The Bengals then tied the game to make it 13-13. There were also many costly turnovers, such as Patrick Mahomes’ fumble, and Joe Burrow’s interception, Nevertheless, both teams scored touchdowns to make the score 20-20. In the fourth quarter, with less than 2 minutes remaining, Cincinnati had the ball deep in their own territory. They had a few good plays and first downs, but ultimately Kansas City’s defense was able to stop them, and Cincinnati was forced to punt. There was now less than a minute and Kansas City only had one timeout. A good punt return put the Chiefs at about midfield, and the Chiefs needed to be smart with the ball. Patrick Mahomes was then able to break free and run for a first down. On the same play, Joseph Ossai pushed Mahomes after he was already out of bounds, causing a 15-yard unnecessary roughness penalty. This allowed Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker to line up for a 45-yard field goal with 8 seconds left. Butker nailed it, sending Kansas City to the Super Bowl, and with the final score being 23-20. This is Kansas City’s first Super Bowl appearance since the 2020-21 season, and their consistency is unmatched. The Bengals looked promising at some points during the game, but the Chiefs defense was able to shut them down. The Bengals had looked amazing all season, and good job to them for making a second-straight AFC championship appearance. Credit to the Bengals on an excellent season, and Congratulations to the Kansas City Chiefs on becoming the 2022 AFC champions!

Now the Super Bowl matchup is set!

It will be the Kansas City Chiefs against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, February 12

Now, I hate to brag, but if you saw the comments of my last blog, you would’ve seen that I correctly predicted the Super Bowl matchup!

I personally think that Kansas City will edge out Philadelphia in the Super Bowl.

The Pro Bowl will be on Sunday, February 5, but it will be flag football this year. There’s never been a flag football pro bowl before, what’s your opinion on that?
