What is Bulgaria??

Bulgaria is a republic located in the eastern Balkans in Europe. Bulgaria has gone through centuries of wars, changes and empires in it's history. Thats part of the reason of why it is so unique. Like always, I will divide this blog into 4 parts.

Bulgaria's population is 75% urban which explains why they have some large cities like Burgas, Varna, and their capital, Sofia. However, after the fall of the Soviet Union the population has been dropping, and has gone from 9 million to about 7 million since its population peak in 1989.

84% of Bulgarias population is ethnic bulgarian with minorities like Turkish, and Roma. This largely has to do with the History of bulgaria. Do you know what else has to do with the history of Bulgaria? Religion. More then 3 - quarters of Bulgaria practices Eastern Orthodox.

The geography of Bulgaria is pretty cool...it has lots of nice caves and waterfalls... let's go more in-depth. Bulgaria as said earlier, sits in the Balkan region which is home to many mountain ranges like the Rhodopes, the one that passes through Bulgaria; giving the highest point: Midžor.

In terms of biodiversity, the country is home to lots of bears, wolves, and flowers, including roses🥀.

• Bulgaria has a literacy rate of 98%!
• The bulgarian yogurt is unique because of the Lactobacillus Bulgaricus micro organism!
• No army ever captured a Bulgarian flag in battle!
• Forests cover 1/3 of Bulgaria!
