Only Blog For the Day #2

Introduction

Welcome to the second ever Only Blog For the Day. I think that every day on the RUB should have just a little bit of content if it's detailed, sensitive, or any other topic. Although I would love to make these blogs in tip-top shape, I sadly cannot as it is too hard for me to finish it by when I go to bed, just like the last one of these blogs. But anyway, this edition will be a lit different than the last one. This time, I will choose a random country generator and pick 3 countries from it, and 2 from a US State generator. Using this, I will search up some interesting facts about these countries and states and enjoy. And if you wanted to know, this blog was definitely not heavily inspired by my mom not knowing that Hawaii used to be a monarchy before the USA colonized it. But, if you think it would be nicer to do something else besides the thing I am doing currently, I would love to hear some feedback to make this a little bit more enjoyable. Now onto the five words!

Country 1: Yemen

The first country starting off, and I already have almost no knowledge whatsoever about it! If you really don't care about my opinions, you're in luck! I don't care either lol. Going away from me talking to myself, here are the few interesting facts I found on the internet about Yemen:

- If you ever want to visit Yemen, it is extremely important to follow their rules. Yemen is extremely religious with its Muslim faith, and many of the religion's laws apply here. Many rules are punishable by death here, including being gay. :\

- If you ever thought that New York City was the oldest skyscraper city because I sure haven't, you have always been lying to yourself! The oldest skyscraper city is actually in Yemen and is called Shibam, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site! Not many people live here, with an estimated population of only around 7 thousand people, but it sure is a wonder to see. (Picture down below.)

- If you are waking up from your goodnight sleep and reading this blog, there might be a possibility that you are drinking your morning coffee for the day. How relatable! This fact is about coffee! Mocha coffee was created by Yemen in 1892 after a city on the Red Sea called Mocha. This city used to be a hub for a lot of international coffee products, so no wonder this famous kind of coffee would be named after this city. and before you ask, I absolutely despise coffee lol.

Shibam. :) Your welcome lol

Country 2: Afghanistan

After we finish reading my puny little sum-up of some of Yemen's most interesting facts I could find, we are about to learn about another rebellious Asian country, how exciting!

- A game I found that many Afghans play is called "Buzkashi". Apparently, this game is played on the back of a horse, and the aim of the game is to try and catch a goat whilst on the horse. This game has been in Afghan culture for centuries and has even become a national sport of the nation.

- Even though Afghanistan is religious just like Yemen above, it doesn't mean that they don't take Islam seriously as well. There houses over 40,000 Jews in the nation, but yet only 1 is a citizen of Afghanistan. The government constantly tells this person named Zablon Simintow to leave his functioning synagogue in Kabul, but always declines.

- With all of these Afghan traditions, I thought it would be nice to bore you all with even more! A traditional Afghan wedding ceremony can last up to 3 days in Afghanistan! So, if you are not married, go here and have a nice, long, exhausting wedding lol. Divorces here are also incredibly rare, as everyone in Afghanistan often looks down on it, and it is not normally a good thing to split up.

Country 3: Bhutan

Bhutan is often a very over-looked country, as no one ever really thinks of it as their first guess. Then again, its the final country in the blog, and of course it is another Asian country, so I guess they deserve it lol. But starting off with a bang we have:

- In many rural Bhutan villages, you can see ***** ******* on the inside walls, paintings of them outside, and even pictures of them on Bhutanese license plates. This is mainly due to many Buddhists in the country believe that is helps ward off evil, help with ********* and also prevent violent gossip. Already onto a great start I see! (I would never say these words on JetPunk, but if you really want to take the risk in trying to find what it is I'm saying, I wish I could stop you lol)

- If you ever want to go to jail for something that REALLY matters, head straight onto a plane to Bhutan. If you ever kill a black-necked crane in Bhutan, you will be spending the absolute rest of life in Bhutanese jail. Bhutan celebrates holidays about these creatures such as on November 11th, and honestly reminds me of a certain bucket in a small little town called Modena, Italy lol. But, if you would rather just destroy a black-colored construction crane in Bhutan, just expect a measly fine. Like, who wouldn't want to go to jail in Bhutan.

- Finally, never accept the first invitation for someone offering to buy you food or a drink. It is a really rood manner there, and you only accept the invitation on the second or third time. Another twist is that if you don't accept, it is also very rood, so no turning back when you ask someone over here in Bhutan!

State 1: Hawaii

Onto the first state, we travel to the tropical paradise that I can only imagine in my dreams. Kinda ironic how this state was chosen after the fact I just said in the Introduction, but I'm not complaining! But anyway:

- Hawaii used to be a kingdom until 1898 until the United States came over and took it over and colonized it. Well, cutting down on time is definitely easy with this fact now that I only have 28 minutes left to write this at the time of writing this sentence.

- Hawaii is actually the only state in the US to have 2 official languages, obviously English and another obvious one, Hawaiian. There is also an unofficial official language called Pidgin, which is normally spoken often in Hawaii as well.

- If you have ever visited Hawaii, you might have been greeted with a local hugging you whilst meeting them. This is a normal tradition in Hawaii with an origin that I could not find. Sadly, this is no longer a thing because of the Coronavirus pandemic, but the locals are sure to keep this tradition back on track in the near future.

State 2: Iowa

After we finally finish the 3 unintentional Asian countries and the state of Hawaii, we move on to the final facts of the day, belonging to the state of Iowa. You might think of this huge, lush, wasteland of corn, which is mostly right.

- If you think of Iowa, you think there is just corn for miles, but in reality, the corn sadly stops at two rivers creating Iowa's borders on East and West, the Mississippi and the Missouri rivers. Go and look at a map and check, I'm right, aren't I?

- If you think of Iowa, you think there is just corn for miles, but in reality, the corn sadly is overtaken by the sheer amount of hogs in the state. There is a total of around 73 million hogs in the state of Iowa, completely blowing away the human population there, even with around 30 million new baby hogs being born in just 2018 alone!

- For the final fact of the blog, and 15 minutes left to make it, I'll finish it off with a nice, soothing fact. If you think of Iowa, you think there is just corn for miles, but in reality, the corn is sadly no longer the most interesting thing in Iowa, as it is home to the third most glorious animal in the entire universe, with humans in second to last. This animal is called the Bullhead Fish, and it has a great, beautiful statue that spans an incredibly long distance of 12 feet! If you took one look into its eyes, you would be completely marveled at its beauty. You know what, I think I'll put an image down below showcasing its beauty! Here you go:

Conclusion

Before I end, please don't stop posting blogs just because you want to see more of this blog, just like I said in the last one. Even though I enjoy making these blogs every once in a while, they get a bit annoying to do the research, with this time being 6 minutes away from release and having to do this in pitch-black darkness, not being able to see the keys of the keyboard, and always incredibly sleep deprived and knowing the fact that I will only have 5 hours to sleep because I have to be up early in the morning for something. :) But anyways, thanks for reading this edition of this series after the last procrastinations, and hopefully I make another one of these in the next few years lol.

Sources if you want to look at more possible interesting facts:

ill find the hawaii facts soon lol I just need sleep and it is 1 minute before I am forced to release lol I have been doing this for one and a half hours straight

UPDATE: Found the Hawaii facts website I used lol. I promise I'll stop complaining and ranting about my problems now lol

The Blog Games hasn't permanently changed to Wednesday. If the blog games is behind just a little bit, it will be moved to Wednesday, but it isn't permanent. The Holiday Special was just such a big blog it took a lot of time to complete, mainly part to that school started up again over here and it was hard to adjust to the new schedule.

Zablon, who was popularly known as the last Jew of Afghanistan was not the last Jew. In fact, there are still many Jews living there, probably under fake identities to evade persecution. He was evacuated to Israel after the Taliban took over back in August!

I looked up the paintings in Bhutan. I'm allowed, I'm almost 60. I figured it might have been what I thought but was surprised it actually was. There must be a few Buddhists spray painting the same good luck symbol in graffiti ridden areas in the UK and elsewhere.

Its called a strikethrough. It is symbolized with the s crossed out near the italic option if you are using the blog editor, or you could just use < s > <\s> function if you are using html and or making a comment with some extra characteristics
