10 Stupidest Canadian Laws

+11

1. Illegal To Throw A Snowball Without A Permit

From what I hear, it snows a lot in Alberta. So....what's the harm in throwing a snowball? Lmao. But in all fairness, they do get cold. But who doesn't love snow?

Every child's dream again? Vanished.

2. Illegal To Spit In Laundry

I guess this is the "natural" washing of clothes. But for whoever that loves to spit in laundry, get a life. That's disgusting (sarcasm, because I hate putting clothes in the washer every time so this is a great idea).

I dare everyone reading this to spit in their laundry. Such a time-saver.

3. Illegal To Pay In Coins

But I thought that was the point of coins....??? Not that coins actually do anything justice. Like what's gonna buy you a penny?

4. Illegal To Take Off Bandages In Public

It could be disgusting I guess.....

But bandages are so tiny that no one will notice you even taking it off (well that is my own experience).

5. Illegal To Water Ski At Night

According to Section 250 of the Criminal Code, "[e]very one who operates a vessel while towing a person on any water skis, surfboard, water sled or other object during the period from one hour after sunset to sunrise is guilty of an offense punishable on summary conviction."

First of all, what is the point of a bracket around the e? Are you like trying to protect it or something?

And also, how is water skiing at night any different from day? You're doing the same exact thing...

6. Illegal For Taxi Drivers To Wear A T-shirt In Halifax

If you remember that time I was writing the Stupidest British Laws BlIllegal Toog, you might remember the Metropolitan Act was dominating most of the laws. But it's like every Canadian province has its own act, because Halifax's Regional Municipality Bylaws stipulates drivers to wear shoes and socks. But that means no t-shirts for some reason.

Somehow shoes/socks and t-shirts are somehow majestically related, which is just stupido (and no, that's not a typo).

7. Illegal For Non-dark Soft Drinks To Contain Caffeine

At first, I thought about coffee. Then came coke. But not every soft drink is coke (oh, and coke seriously sucks by the way). So like......just why??

8. Illegal To Build A Big Snowman In Souris, Prince Edward Island

So that means small snowmen (I almost said snowmens) are okay? 🧠

9. Illegal To Sneak Out If You're A Kid (15 and below, I know) in St. Paul, Alberta

But what if I wanna meet my friends even though my parents don't let me?

(me pretending to be a parent): "Sorry, sunny. No can do."

10. Illegal To Paint Your Garage Purple In Kanata, Ontario

Try to be the smart guy. Go ahead...paint your garage purple in this town. The only setback? You will be fined. Don't say I didn't warn ya.

These laws are actually enforced.

And if there's one thing I've learned about Canada.....it's that the country is real low-class.

My opinion on all of this laws lol:

1. Overall a stupid law, who doesn't love getting pelted in the face and the snow trickling underneath your jacket and giving you the most wonderful experience of your life.

2. Guess we are just getting too modernized lol

3. Guess I can't buy a car with pennies anymore over there, I was really looking forward to it too.

4. Whoever takes a bandage off in the pool is an evil mastermind.

5. Maybe someone went water skiing into a rock or something, idk

6. 'Murica is gonna destroy Canada's weak little freedom of expression

7. Coffee is the worst drink to ever be invented by man, mainly because it makes my mom extremely hyper and feisty towards my sister who is about to go to the bus stop in see through-leggings lol, but coke is fine, but to a teenager diet coke tastes like dirt.

8. Frosty is banned. Segregation exists here.

9. Kids in middle school probably just vandalizing lol

10. Freedom of expression strikes again!!!

It’s like when I NEED to go to the church. I can only wear jeans lol (I hate jeans). The life of Halifax’s Taxi Drivers must be hard. Why don’t they use pajamas then?

Funnily enough, all these laws were probably enforced because someone did it.
