Seriously this time. Not going to be lurking taking quizzes and reading comments but not commenting myself. Just leaving. The moderation of this site, always questionable, arbitrary, haphazard, and a bit hit-or-miss... has become shit, and/or deliberately punitive. If the former thing, I'd expect more from this otherwise great site. If the latter... that's just pathetic and I don't have time, or rather, the mental energy, for it. The last 11 years were fun and educational, though.

The comments being deleted were not anything political or inflammatory and in many cases were comments that had stayed up, offending nobody, for many years. It was becoming ridiculously common that these sorts of comments would just disappear, without any possible rationale, making me feel unwanted. Seemed like a good time to go.

I had plenty of disagreements with QM and his staff in the past over specific comments, quizzes, et cetera getting pulled down for being inflammatory... but this wasn't that.

Well, I would have said that, if you really think what you wrote about the moderation of the site, the thing to do wouldn't be to flee away, but to stay and struggle, but I guess that's too late for you now.

this isn't a democracy it's a dictatorship with its own secret police disappearing anything and anyone not in alignment with the regime. Struggle is pointless. It's QM's site. He can do what he wants with it.

Bye kalbahamut. It was definitely fun and enlightening to read your comments and take your quizzes. If the moderation policy on other quizzes bothers you so much, it would have been nice if you at least stayed to reply to comments on your own quizzes, but I guess that ship has sailed now. Still, I hope you reconsider and return to JetPunk sometime, even if in an inactive role. (I suspect you might return some day, but perhaps not in the near future.)

.......... wtf are you even talking about? When have I *ever* said that women are inferior to men? That's not even close to something I have ever believed in my entire life. You catastrophically misread something I wrote, or, maybe are getting me mixed up with someone else... I have plenty of opinions that are controversial or that some might find offensive. This is not one of them.

and who the heck are the people liking this comment? Seriously... what the hell...? I'm truly baffled.

For the record my sincerely and ardently held belief is that all human beings, male or female, American or Serbian, "White" or "Black" (race is not a thing), Muslim or atheist or whatever... are entitled to be thought of and treated as full equals and afforded the same legal rights, respect, dignity, etc as everyone else. I've never thought differently. But I would say that this goes particularly for men and women... I've always prided myself on treating both the same no matter what.

Women are extraordinarily privileged in the United States. This is a fact. But what does that have to do with defending the view that women are inferior to men? Or any weird social hierarchy? I've never said that we ought to go back to the 1800s when women were in an inferior position. Pointing out an overcorrection is not an endorsement of the original problem. Furthermore, outside of the US and the Western world, in places like Saudi Arabia where I've spent a good chunk of my life, women still are legally and culturally inferior to men and I've many times voiced opposition to this. In fact, one of my biggest problems with contemporary Western "feminists" is that they seem all too happy to throw these women from other parts of the world under the bus in the name of cultural sensitivity or moral relativism. While they complain about catcalls, they dismiss forced child marriage and wearing of niqab in the Muslim world as part of their culture or even female empowerment.
