Great, another list of things I'm going to have to read. Thanks Quizmaster.

I'm joking, I read a lot at work (truck driver with plenty of free time whilst waiting to load) and I'm always looking for suggestions

Great list! I also appreciate suggestions. Here are a few of my favorites from the past year: Team of Rivals, by Doris Kearns Goodwin (Lincoln’s relationship with his cabinet); Can’t Buy Me Love, by Jonathan Gould (the story of the Beatles within their cultural context), Bonhoeffer, by Eric Metaxas; and The Good Neighbor (bio of Fred Rogers). I also just finished re-reading Lord of the Rings for the first time in 20 years. Still amazing.

I recommend anything by Haruki Murakami if you're into fiction. His stories are often surreal and Kafkaesque, and are really engaging. My personal favorite of his is "Kafka on the Shore."

I've only read one Murakami, 1Q84, but it's an amazing (if very long) book. Some other books worth reading (not necessarily my favorites but among the best books I've read in the past 2 years): Midnight's Children, American Gods, The Sympathizer, Homegoing, The Kite Runner, Invisible Man, and the Paper Menagerie.

I read mostly fiction but I'm trying to get more into nonfiction. I'll definitely look into some of these books!

Yeeees... though I've only read Norwegian Woods but still it's marvelous and I'm not a bookworm

I've read a two or three Murakami books. Pretty good (and definitely surreal) but I just couldn't get into them.

Have you read guns germs and steel or collapse by Jared Diamond?

I read "The Fault In Our Stars" a few years ago, but I didn't really like it. Maybe teenage love stories just aren't my thing? (ironically enough, I'm a teenage girl yet I despise this genre)
