How is antiquing negative? Google Dictionary says it means to shop for antique items.

A story from a few older guys whose wives contracted the antiquing.

"She was so excited that we had to go immediately. We arrived at the shop. We came out with a couple of old hay poles to be placed on the yard, and a rickety old wooden ladder that had to be nailed on the living room wall for that rustic feeling.

The next week, we had to go back because "It's not ready." She touched everything in the shop from rusty old ball of wire to a torch with a strip of lace glued to it. Everything was all aww, ooh and aah. We bought a variety of 'antiquated' items costing a thousand times more than a new one.

The next day she remembered the rusty ball of wire had cute little pom-poms like they use in children's crafts, so we had to have it. I offered to make the junk (cost: 0), but "it's not the same" because "it's not from the shop" (cost: M). Next thing you know, the yard looks like a burial ground of old crap and we're the laughingstock of the neighborhood." ;)
