Ithabise, the whole point is that you're not supposed to be able to get them all. It's a high score challenge. :)

all of you who claim to be able to type all 50 in under the allotted minute, I want to see a screen shot, because I don't believe it. That's 100 wpm. I know there's only 50 states, but most of them have long names, so it comes out to be pretty close to 100 wpm.

My best is 43...I'm slowly edging in on 50. I guess I have experience from video games where typing fast is mandatory

Whew - made it to 50 with 1 second to spare (typed, no voice software). And for acer9199, who wants proof: http://imgur.com/PMXhg I tend to type around 100wpm when I'm cranking, and these are words that I'm familiar with. So yeah.

The best I could do without typos was 35. I can do them all in less than 2 min.

California is #1, yet it is long and hard to spell? America IS dumb.

Everyone knows California because its an obvious shape, like Texas and Florida.

America is dumb because they spell a hard word? Nice. Perhaps you need to rethink what dumb means. As for this quiz, my best ever is 8 seconds remaining. I don't believe it is possible to get to 45 seconds except with the voice software. But if you can, props.

@probablyrunning I type over 130 words a minute, but it took me many attempts to get that time. It's also because I learned a song in elementary school with all the states alphabetically, and I haven't forgotten it. So I just type them as I sing it in my head, haha.

That's how I do it too :D. But I can't type nearly that fast.

How can mn be so far down the list for how many people who get it? Anyone heard of Target, Duluth, twin cities, mall of America, Minnesota twins, timberwolves, wild, vikings, lynx, gophers? Think of any of those? Huh?

Hey quizmaster, sometimes the test won't recognize that I typed a word, for example I will type ohio, then continue on with arkansas, but the program won't pick up ohio and I'll have something like "ohioarkan" before i delete then arkan, then it picks up ohio

I got 20 darn you New Hampshire and Massachusetts and Pennsylvania why is Washington dc not counted? (what do you bet half these people stopped the timer) jk but still...

after 4 tries, I made the average of 21; too many typos!

After many many tries, I finally got 40/50. I know the states in ABC order, but I found that by simply looking at the map, and typing the states as your mind sees the shape, made it easier for me. I can't get any more. I simply can't type fast enough. I still only have 4 points for the quiz. I assume you need 100% to get all 5 points. This along with the 100 wpm typing challenge will forever be blemishes on my record, because I will never be able to complete them legitimately, without stopping the timer anyway.
