I made up a symbol like 'live long and prosper'. You just put your two middle fingers(you know, middle and ring) together, and your index and pinky separated. Your thumb can be wherever, and you know what it means? It's the opposite of 'live long and prosper', and it means 'live short and die broke'. XD

According to Wikipedia, both Venezuela and Costa Rica have symbols in them. You might want to update that, as I almost didn't get them because of it.

At least read the Wikipedia articles properly: the versions with the symbols are variants - depends on the situation which version is flown. The versions shown on this quiz are acceptable (as they would be if they had the versions with the symbols).

The flag you have for Costa Rica is actually the flag for Thailand. The Costa Rican flag has is the same as Thailand but it has an emblem on the middle stripe. Also, I do not believe the official Peru and Bolivian flags have a coat of arms, just the bands of colors.

So untrue! Thailand's outer stripes are red and inner stripe is blue whereas Costa Rica's stripes are in reverse order. Can't mistake one for another. Great quiz! Love the order you arranged the flags, helps learn them fast!

It's not "SO" untrue, but you are incorrect, here. What YogBarOg said about the inversed colours is correct, but you are not wrong to think there should be a coat of arms just left of centre - there is on the variant flag, but it is more common to use the flag without the CoA.

For anyone trying to learn flags: Nicaragua and El Salvador look similar, but if you zoom in on one of them, you'll find that Nicaragua's says "republic of Nicaragua on it." Paraguay also has its name on its flag. I always remember St Vincent and the Grenadines because the diamonds on the flag are shaped like a "V" Ditto to the stars on Honduras' flag; they look like an "H"

Bolivia is usually displayed with the coat of arms on the middle stripe, while Peru more usually is without the coat of arms

Like in the flags of the world quiz, the coats of arms only show up when you click on the flag.

Sometimes it's included, sometimes it isn't. Same with Bolivia. There probably is some reason for it though.

Some countries have different versions of their national flags, depending on situation and who is doing the flying of the flag: government offices might have one version, private individuals might only be allowed to use another. All are valid flags though.
