31/48. I missed the obvious Australia and New Zealand.

I didn't think Australia was obvious at all, and it surprises me that it's the most guessed. It's usually classed as a continent.

I didn't think that United Kingdom would be considered an island with Northern Ireland on a separate landmass. Either way, I failed pretty hard on this one, hehe.

Woo-Hoo! Got 'em all! Now if I could just get all the countries. Hey I'm up to 145. Just need another 3 minutes.

rabbittoyourfox
I didn't realize it was only completely sovereign nations, even though that should have been obvious. I kept guessing thinks like Svlabard and Martinique. Too bad I didn't realize earlier.

Why is Malaysia missing from the list?
Quizmaster replies:
Because part of Malaysia is connected to mainland Asia.

Timor-Leste should be accepted in addition to East Timor
Quizmaster replies:
Added that as an acceptable answer.

It is very obvious by looking at the percentage guessed that people are cheating on this quiz

Australia is a continent. Otherwise you'd have to add Europe,Russia, China etc, Africa and the Americas as well.
2011-04-04
GeckoIX
@ Pinkk Australia is also a country The continent of Australia includes these countries: Australia New Zealand Papua New Guinea Kiribati Micronesia Vanuatu Samoa Fiji Tonga Tuvalu Palau Nauru Marshall islands Solomon islands And Russia and China like you mentioned arn't Continents, they are Countries

geoquizpro
GeckoIX there is no continent of Australia its either Oceania or Australasia at least in Europe where we know that Australia is a country! I have looked it up and even if you Americans are somehow stupid enough to name a country and continent the same way New Zealand is apparently not part of the "continent" of Australia but is part of the submerged continent Zealandia!

GeckoIX
@geoquizpro, I stand corrected, apparently there is no Australian continent. When it is refered to as Australia (continent) it includes: Australia (country), Torres straight islands and the island of New Guinea. Oceania refers to all the countries I listed above. BUT... Australasia only refers to Australia (country) and New Zealand, and occasionally south east Asian countries. But not the rest of the Pacific. BY the way I am not one of those "Stupid Americans" you refered to me as, I am infact Australian so I think I know what I'm talking about.

Jigglypuff5
hey I spelled vanuatu "vanatu" on Countries of the world quiz and it took it, that ain't fair >:P BTW @geoquizpro Australia is BOTH considered a country and a continent, it's a called a continent by many people and it's a country because it has a flag. Americans aren't stupid idk what country you're from but obviously youve been taught WRONG!

katytheelf
Dude we're a country that takes up a whole continent. When we start lumping in all the little islands near by, it's Oceania.

East timor is actually connected to a part of indonesia. Yes both territories are on a small island but then you could say that all of north and south america are a part of a single land mass (ie. an island) as well.

*facepalm*. I gave up after 40. I can't belive I forgot Seychells and Cape Verde! I've been to those places! I also forgot Sri Lanka. I feel a right idiot!

If Papua New Guinea is an island country, then so is everywhere in the world... They share an island with Indonesia... as does every country in the world... I'm being picky of course... but hey ho!!! Great quiz!!

sharastarr1
@420anaitor Not cheating, if you learned all of the countries for the "countries of the world" quiz, then you can easily do this one! I did miss one though, because of the time limit.

gonecrawfishin - if you do the Countries of the World quiz, you'll learn all of them. It's not completely unheard of to know all 196 countries...
2011-12-06
PaulL
In addition to what Jaq said, Tuvalu was probably the first Oceanic island (excluding the huge ones) I ever learned because of the internet domain .tv

azucarita, I have Antigua remembered as "the forgettable one". As long as, once I've listed all the Caribbean islands, I know there's one I've forgotten, then I get Antigua. I'm British and we're never taught those islands, nor the ones in Oceania.

sympho11
Almost almost, I got 43 on first try... and I looked at the numbers and said to myself : I'm missing a big obvious one... damn it! it was UK. Not my finest moment.
