Yes to the above comments. I have been to many tattoo ceremonies where each state receives a cannon shot. Alabama is sometimes Cotton or Yellowhammer. Arizona is also Copper. Minnesota is Land of 10,000 Lakes. Delaware-Diamond. Arizona-Copper. Alaska-Midnight Sun. Maine-Vacation (that's BS, but I've seen tests that use it before). Michigan-wolverine. Nevada-sage/sagebrush. There's more, but these are by and large the biggest discrepancies.

Wolverines are just the mascot of the University of Michigan. There aren't even any wolverines living in Michigan. It's absolutely the Great Lakes State.

OK's license plates say "Native America," so that's what I guessed. And I've always heard MN called the Land of 10,000 Lakes, too.

Maine is the Pine Tree State. "Vacationland" is printed on some license plates but as a Mainer I've never known that to be an authorized nickname.

Wisconsin calls ourselves America's Dairyland so I agree with you. MN is either Gopher state or Land of 10,000 lakes. I also agree with illinois being land of lincoln.
