Wow 17/69 for an aussie.

Camelback
40/69, not bad for a European. Juicy Fruit I put bubble gum, since I figured that would work too but it didn't
2012-01-24
Camelback
Oh and asking anyone to spell Worcestershire Sauce is just mean
2012-01-24

32/69 not bad as I'm English- didn't think I'd get that many.
2012-01-24
noodles
57, not bad considering most of these products are sold in Canada.

Fackwacker
doritos are made of corn, so the frito/dorito corn chip threw me...also, nearly forgot americans call chocolate bars candy bars.

Can Macadamias please be accepted for Macadamia nut? And salad dressing instead as well as ranch dressing? I'm happy with my 36/69 being an Aussie but I could have had more :)

I must object to your identifying Folgers as "coffee" or Charles Shaw as "wine". It might say coffee and wine on the respective packages, but there is where the resemblance to actual coffee and wine ends.

fackwacker.....for the record......i'm american and i call them chocolate bars....just sayin (thankfully it was an accepted answer)

lancershaft
oh, and some of these brands make multiple products (i.e. old spice could be deoderant or body wash or aftershave, arm and hammer could be baking soda or deoderant or laundry soap or air freshener and so on) dunno if the others are accepted, but they should be

I had a lot of problems with a couple of answers. Where I'm from in the UK, toilet paper is also called toilet/loo roll and toilet tissue, and paper towels (which I've always known to be crappy blue paper in school) I call kitchen roll, or kitchen towels. Had to google what else they were called to actually get the answer.. Other than that, pretty good quiz

I tried potpourri and odor remover for 'air freshener' d'oh. i couldn't for the life of me remember what kind of nut mauna loa is. not bad 66/69

literatedork
36/46 and I'm English ... not bad :D

Old Spice was an aftershave for about half a century before it was a deodorant.

Tschutzer -- Wow, hating on 2-buck Chuck!?!? Sure, it's not Opus One or Chateau Lafite, but it's really a pretty good value for the price.

Accept Pretzal for Pretzel and it was difficult to get "tortilla chip" for doritos. It really isn't because it's more cheesy
2012-01-24
DiscoBayGolfer
2 buck chuck = insta headache.

Can't you accept a few spelling errors on Worcestershire????
2012-01-24
glennish731
Considering less than 50% of people are getting doritos I think the acceptable answers needs to be expanded on a few of these...I only got macadamia nuts because of the hawaiian name and it was right around peanuts....Also, for bayer couldnt pain medication work? I didnt know if it was asprin, acemetiphine (spelling butchered), ib profen, or what.

As an American, this quiz was obviously easier for me than folks from other parts of the world. I missed two, because I have never bought marshmallows nor wine. You could have provided me multiple choice options on those two, and I doubt it would have helped. I guessed "cheese snacks" and "cheese twists" for Jet Puffed (obviously wrong). And I couldn't even guess for the wine. No clue.

How about accepting Laundry soap for Laundry Detergent.

There's nothing wrong with Charles Shaw wines. They buy overstock from wineries who would normally sell the same bottle for $5-15. Charles Shaw doesn't do any actual production, just the bottling and labeling. Since wine is a luxury commodity, we often equate a low price with low quality, or some calamitous event that causes the price to drop so low, but that just isn't the case. Sorry for the rant, but the 2 buck chuck argument always gets to me.

I was 68/69 with only Charles Shaw to go and just KNEW that it was going to be the least guessed item. Apparently only sold in Ann Arbor, Michigan! ;-) I also agree with accepting salad dressing for Hidden Valley. It IS salad dressing, after all.

I put in chocolate and candy for Snickers and neither were accepted :/ Good quiz though!

I agree that Doritos is a difficult one, but in all fairness "tortilla chip" is what is actually written on the bag.

I added the following acceptable answers: macadamia, salad dressing, toilet tissue, loo/toilet roll, kitchen towel/roll, and laundry soap.

could you accept aftershave for old spice as well as deoderant? I must have mispelled macadamia as I tried it at least three times. Still the only one I didn't know was Charles Shaw, pretty good for an expat American who hasn't lived in the US since 1998.

could you accept marinara or tomato sauce for Ragu?
Quizmaster replies:
Okay.

Can you accept baked beans for Heinz? Because I'm pretty sure that's just as famous as ketchup.

Good idea, bad execution... too many variables in my opinion - and it needs pretty precise answers. Not really that fun because of it :)

could not spell Worcestershire sauce. I just copy and pasted that right now. that should be considered cruel and unusual punishment.
