Many Christians also see it as the North Star but that's another answer.

Why would it be the North Star if it appeared in the East??

@Erikthev, also not sure on the North Star for Bethlehem, unless it's based on Dante's Divine Comedy, which put Purgatory at the polar opposite point of Bethlehem. If so, then one could reorient their view of the world using that pole, making Bethlehem the 'north pole.' A stretch by any means.

The star of Bethlehem did not, however, appear in the east. The Magi, who lived in the east--Persia--saw the star, and followed it west.

I have never heard of any Christian suggesting that the Christmas star was the Northern Star. It's described as a moving star, that later disappeared, so it makes no sense. I've heard some people suggesting a comet, and even saying it could be comet Halley.

Agreed. 'Star of Bethlehem' is oddly specific; I tried every variation of 'eastern star' I could think of, but nothing worked.

When 91% can get the Wookiee clue, but only 28% can get the Death Star clue, I think the clue is too vague or flawed.
