Title should be Word Scramble - World Cities. It took me a couple of minutes just to realize that these are not US cities. It would have helped me if I knew that up front!

Why should you think that it would be US cities only in the first place!

Thank you. Amazingly enough, USA is not the centre of the universe.

I liked this one, though I only got 17. :-(

I like this one, but it might be easier if it were classified into two: national and international cities.

Got 23, absolutely kicking myself for not getting La Paz but I was looking at it racking my brains and I knew I'd be annoyed when I found out what it was! Hadn't heard of the other 3 I didn't get (Flint, Akron, Utica) so I'm happy.

Fargo is in North Dakota; Flint, Michigan; Akron, Ohio; Utica, New York

I did not do well at all - only 13. But it's a fun quiz!

Only an American would assume they are all US cities. I am Canadian, and I didn't assume they were all Canadian cities.

That's because there are only like 2 cities in Canada. Wouldn't do much for a quiz now would it?

Really? You actually expected them all to be American? Self-centered, much.....

Selma should also be correct for Salem, right?

That was my first thought. It didn't work, but it should be allowed.

I'm American and I didn't assume they were all American cities. And only a Canadian would respond with a snobbish remark like Fofie and canadianeh. And if Fofie isn't Canadian, then he/she is from Europe.

Only redwingsofdetroit wouldn't see the irony in guessing Fofie is from Europe ;) Got Flint only by guesswork (I had never heard of it otherwise). Never heard of Akron and I thought Utica was in Tunisia... The other two I missed were the comparitively obvious Delhi and Cairo...

A little history: Flint is the site of the historic sit-down strike in 1936-37 in the city where General Motors had some of its most important plants. A turning point in American history, since it meant that the UAW would be able to organize the auto industry. Akron also had similar events in the tire industry at that time; the workers there maintained more than eleven miles of picket lines. Utica has a different claim to fame: it was the home of the bakery owned by Joseph Lochner, who challenged the law limiting the number of hours his employees could work as a violation of his constitutional rights and persuaded the Supreme Court to overturn the law. Sorry for the lecture--but what do you expect from people who go to a trivia site?

Salem could also be Selma.

(31)
True, but Salem is probably the most well known of the two because: 1) There are two relatively important cities named Salem; one is the capital of Oregon and the other is in Massachusetts. 2) Salem, Massachusetts was the site of the Salem witch trials from 1692 to 1693, in which anyone and everyone was randomly accused of being a witch.

Did you need so many American cities (especially smaller ones)? You couldn't come up with some more international ones? You have 8 American cities. How about Accra, Turin, Malmo, Mecca?

Agreed, as long as you keep Tulsa, which, for the record, is a much better city than OKC.
