Great quiz. Crazy that there is no more populous "W" island than the one given.

A lot of populous islands seem to all cluster around G-M

I was also surprised to see that Zhongshan was more populous than Zamboanga - but upon looking it up I discovered that while there is a city, a province, and a peninsula in the Philippines with that name, there exists no island.

Not convinced that Isle of Wight starts with a W, as "Wight" on its own would be pretty much meaningless. To me it starts with an "I".

I probably should have stated this in a caveat, but for many islands which have the world "island" at the end, I do not require people to write the word "island". In keeping with the same principle, I decided that the "Isle of" part should not be required, though I understand that this could be controversial.

Had to do a double-take on Vancouver Island, since that's where I'm originally from. I didn't realise its population had grown quite that much :-p Provincial estimates put the population close to 25K lower from last year!

So, we're not considering all of Eurasia an island now?
