The Indus River and its tributaries host one of the oldest civilisations on earth, and they are the lifeline of the modern nation of Pakistan, as well as the backbone of the interstate region of Punjab (whose name derives from the word 'five waters', referring to the five rivers that carve through it). Can you name every city in the basin with a population greater than 200,000?
The first quiz in the series with a megacity! A reminder that population is per city proper.
Also note that the basin is drawn slightly too large on the eastern portion closer to Delhi. There are a number of Indian cities which appear to be eligible based on this map, but in reality they drain into the River Ganga via the Yamuna River.
I set the limit to 200,000 to give a good variety of cities over a large geographical area. Some famous cities like Shimla missed the cut.
Thanks for playing JWatson! It makes sense in retrospect considering the geography of the reason, but it is crazy how many regions are represented by this Basin.
Ganga-Brahmaputra would be even more intense, stretching all the way to Lhasa and Delhi. I have a good map for this to university-permitting this would be a wonderful quiz :D

Guess the rivers on this quiz.
I'd love to see one of these for the Ganges-Brahmaputra Basin as well!
