Achelous

Achilles
The river god of pain and the River named for him as well as the father of Askalaphos, He rules over the river and rules over the Naiads that resides in the river. He also borders the underworld, not letting souls pass unless Charon is paid.
Acheron
The master of the winds and king of the floating island of Aeolia.
Aeolus
The goddess of Misery and Poison. She is also the keeper of the Death Mist and resides in Tartarus. She is the daughter of Chaos and Nyx.
Akhlys
One of the Pleiades, the daughters of the Titan Atlas and the Oceanid Pleione. She was also the mother of King Hyrieus.
Alcyone
One of the giants created by Gaea to destroy the gods. He is the giant equivalent to Hades/Pluto. Because of this, he is the eldest of the giants, since Hades is the eldest male Olympian.
Alcyoneus
One of the three Furies, the three chief servants of Hades, and the head torturers in the Underworld. The translation of her name is "Implacable anger". She's the one sent after Percy Jackson to kill him in The Lightning Thief.
Alecto
The Queen of the Sea through her marriage with Poseidon and one of the fifty Nereids.
Amphitrite
A Greek demigod, daughter of the goddess Athena and professor Frederick Chase, and the cousin of Norse demigod Magnus Chase. She is one of the main characters in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series as well as in The Heroes of Olympus series, as she is one of the Seven demigods of the Prophecy of Seven. She is the architect of Olympus and the former head counselor of Athena's cabin. She is currently the girlfriend of Percy Jackson.
Annabeth Chase
Greek and Berber mythology was a half-giant, the son of Poseidon and Gaea, whose wife was Tinjis. He is the older brother of Charybdis, his once beautiful sister.
Antaeus
One of Penelope's suitors in the Odyssey. He was killed with an arrow to the neck by Odysseus. He appears in The Blood of Olympus.
Antinous
The Greek goddess of beauty, love, desire, passion, pleasure, and fertility. Pipers mom.
Aphrodite
The music and poetry teacher at Camp Fish-Blood, the camp that has trained countless Mer-Heroes. He is one of the brothers of Chiron.
Aphros
God of the sun. Father of Will Solace, Lee Fletcher, Michel Yew, and Octavian.
Apollo
The daughters of Nyx. They are female spirits of curses, particularly those placed by the dead upon those responsible for their death. Once an one is cut down, their curse is released upon their killer. They are sometimes misidentified with the Furies, three female spirits of vengeance.
Arai
Once a mortal weaver of unparalleled skill who became arrogant, challenging the goddess Athena to a contest to see who was truly the best weaver. Though there were different variations of the story of the contest, there was one similarity shared by all: Athena ended up transforming her into the first spider and made her immortal, becoming the mother of all spiders.
Arachne
The Greek virgin goddess of the hunt, archery, wilderness, animals, forests, the Moon, radiance, maidenhood, and childbirth. She and her twin brother Apollo are known as the "Twin Archers." She drives the moon chariot across the sky at night, a role she received when Selene, the original moon deity, faded.
Artemis
The Greek god of war. He is one of the Twelve Olympians, the son of Zeus and Hera. The father of Clarisse La Rue.
Ares
One of Reyna's automaton guard dogs, along with Aurum. He is the silver hound, as his name means 'silver' in Latin, and he has eyes made of rubies. Both of the dogs have the ability to know when a person is lying and will then attack the person.
Argentum
A one hundred-eyed giant, who acts as a security guard who serves to the Olympians. He currently works at Camp Half-Blood as the head of security, often riding the demigod heroes to quests. He does not talk much, for it is said that he has an eye on his tongue, and does not want to show it.
Argus
A princess of Crete, daughter of King Minos and Pasiphaë. She is known for helping the hero Theseus find his way through the Labyrinth. She is the wife of Greek god Dionysus, who made her immortal. She is the Greek goddess of Labyrinths and Paths.
Ariadne
The immortal equine son of the gods Demeter and Poseidon and brother of Despoina. Has chosen Hazel as his rider.
Arion
When Rachel Dare was six years old, her hamster died, so her father called him to help her get over the loss.
Dr. Arkwright
The Greek god of healing and medicine. Gave the Physicians Cure to Leo, Piper and Jason.
Asclepius
The Greek virgin goddess of wisdom, civilization, mathematics, strategy, defensive warfare, crafts, the arts, and skill. She is often portrayed as a companion of heroes and is the patron of heroic endeavor. Mom of Annabeth Chase.
Athena
The Titan of endurance and the main antagonist of The Titan's Curse. As punishment for leading the armies of Kronos against the gods in the first Titanomachy, Zeus forced him to hold up the sky for all eternity. He is Kronos' second-in-command and is in charge of recruiting monsters for the Titans' cause. While Kronos was regenerating inside of his sarcophagus, he seemed to be in charge of the army.
Atlas
One of the three divine personifications of destiny. They control the metaphorical thread of life for every living thing from birth to death.
Atropos
Is one of Reyna's automaton guard dogs along with Argentum. He is the golden hound, as He is Latin for gold. He has rubies for eyes. Both of the dogs can sense when someone is lying and will attack you if you are.
Aurum
The god of the South Wind, one of the four Anemoi.
Auster/Notus
She is seen when Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase and Grover Underwood see a television program in Los Angeles, California. The broadcast is an interview of her, Gabe Ugliano, and Sugar. Gabe talks to her about the disappearance of his wife, Sally Jackson, and his stepson, Percy. The television screen displays a photo of Percy, Annabeth, and Grover. She questions who the children in the photo are and wonders if Percy is a delinquent, a terrorist or a brainwashed victim of a new cult.
Barbara Walters
A native of Louisiana, Beauregard resigned from the U.S. Army in February 1861 and ordered the first shots of the Civil War during the bombardment of Fort Sumter in April 1861. A lover of Aphrodite. Ancestor of Silena Beauregard.

Belonna
An unstable, alcoholic TV star and mortal mother of Thalia and Jason Grace through Zeus/Jupiter.
Beryl Grace
Sea serpent/cow whose entrails are burned or sacrificed, would give the slayer the power to defeat the gods. Given a nickname by Percy.
Bessie
A Greek demigod, a daughter of Hades and Maria di Angelo, and the older sister of Nico di Angelo. She became a Hunter of Artemis after being saved along with Percy Jackson, Grover Underwood, Thalia Grace, and her brother Nico by the Hunters. She later died killed by one of Hephaestus' defective automatons, Talos at the age of twelve and chose to be reborn after reaching Elysium.
Bianca di Angelo
Friendly, pure black pegasus. He often serves as Percy's main option of transportation. He and other Pegasi often go to Percy, who helps them with their, or other creatures' problems.
Blackjack
A mortal who, unknowingly, celebrated his birthday during the last few days of the Second Titan War.
Bobby Earl
The younger mortal half-brother of Annabeth Chase. His parents are Frederick Chase and Mrs. Chase. He is the twin brother of Matthew Chase.
Bobby Chase
Two headed barista that serves Reyna and Annabeth hot chocolate in New Rome.
Bombilo
Percy Jackson's principal during his time at Meriwether College Prep.
Mr. Bonsai
The Greek god of the North Wind and Winter. He is also one of the four seasonal wind gods that work for Aeolus, the master of all winds. He settled down in Quebec City, Canada, the oldest settlement in the North. He's the only god that we know of who does not normally speak English in North America; he speaks French instead, as it is the sole official language of the province of Quebec.
Boreas/Aquilon
One of the three Hekatonkheires, son of Ouranos and Gaia. Of the three, he is the only one still alive as his brothers, Cottus and Gyges, have faded away because no one remembered their story.
Briares
A legacy of Orcus, the god of punishment in the Underworld. He was exiled from Camp Jupiter for killing his centurion, but was reinstated by Octavian. He was later turned into a ghost by Nico di Angelo.
Bryce Lawrence
A Greek demigod son of Iris and the Head Counselor of his cabin.
Butch Walker
A walking table that Leo saved from a supply closet. He assisted Leo Valdez in the building of the Argo II in Bunker 9 and is currently onboard the Argo II.
Buford
The combat trainer at Camp Fish-Blood, a camp that has trained countless Mer-Heroes. His brother is Aphros and his half-brother is Chiron.
Bythos
A fire-breathing giant who appears in the short story Percy Jackson and the Staff of Hermes.
Cacus
Nicknamed Cal, is a son of Boreas and Orithyia. He is the brother of Zethes and Khione. He was a demigod until his father offered him and his brother Zethes immortality.
Calais
A third generation Titaness, a daughter of Atlas. As punishment for her support in the First Titanomachy, she was banished to Ogygia, a remote island where different heroes whom she couldn't help but fall in love with would end up. None of those heroes whom she falls for would ever be able to stay with her. She was rescued by Leo Valdez after the Second Giant War ended. Once she left her island, she gave up Titan-hood and is currently a mortal, but eventually regained her magical powers. She is the girlfriend of Leo Valdez.
Calypso
A Greek demigod, son of Dionysus and the twin brother of Pollux. He was killed in the Battle of the Labyrinth when Kronos' army attacked Camp Half-Blood.
Castor
One of the many Lares at Camp Jupiter. At the senate meeting the day after the War Games, he strongly disagrees with the quest Mars gave Frank Zhang. He argues that it is absurd and points out that Frank is not even a full member of the legion. He states that the quest must be led by someone that has achieved centurion rank or higher, rather than some probatio. Reyna snaps at him, saying that they must obey the wishes of the god, meaning certain adjustments must take place.
Cato
Son of Hermes. He first appears when Nico di Angelo leaves the Romans Leila and Dakota, shadow traveling to the crest of Half-Blood Hill next to Thalia's Pine Tree where Will Solace, Lou Ellen, and he are scouting the enemy.
Cecil Markowitz
A Hunter of Artemis. She was one of the many Hunters and Amazons killed by Orion.
Celyn
Three headed guard dog of the Underworld.
Cerberus
The initial rudimentary mass of being, as explained by Ovid in his Metamorphoses. From it emerged the Protogeni. Besides being a deity, it is a shapeless void below even the depths of Tartarus, the realm embodied by one of its sons. Once someone enters it, he/she/they becomes nothing and is dissolved by the void. This is where faded gods reside in eternal sleep.
Chaos
A Greek demigod son of Hephaestus. He was the head counselor of Cabin 9 at Camp Half-Blood and the boyfriend of Silena Beauregard before his death, which occurred when the Princess Andromeda blew up during a mission with Percy Jackson, shortly before the Battle of Manhattan. Beckendorf sacrificed himself in the ensuing explosion which delayed Kronos' forces and allowed Percy to escape. He was succeeded by Jake Mason, and later, Leo Valdez.
Charles Beckendorf
A daimon and the Spirit of Boundaries and Territories. He is the ferryman that transports dead spirits to the Underworld. He is a son of Nyx.
Charon
Once a beautiful giantess, the daughter of Poseidon and Gaea. She takes the form of a huge mouth that swallows great amounts of water and debris three times a day, creating multiple massive whirlpools. Sister of Antaeus.
Charybdis
The stepmother of Annabeth Chase, the mortal wife of Frederick Chase and the mother of Matthew and Bobby Chase.
Mrs. Chase
The monster offspring of Echidna and Typhon. When it was first seen by Percy he thought it was a chihuahua.
Chimera
The activities director at Camp Half-Blood. He is an immortal centaur, son of Kronos and the Oceanid Philyra, and a famed trainer of heroes from Greek mythology, including Jason and Achilles. In The Lightning Thief, he went under the alias "Mr. Brunner" when he posed as a teacher at Yancy Academy.
Chiron
A Greek demigod from the Hermes' Cabin, as he was later revealed to be a son of Hermes, and the boyfriend of Clarisse La Rue.
Chris Rodrigeuz
The brother of Pegasus and a son of Poseidon and Medusa. He and Pegasus were not born until Perseus chopped off Medusa's head. He had one son, Geryon, from Callirrhoe, daughter of Oceanus, Titan of the sea.
Chrysaor
One of the bronze Angel Statues. He saved Percy, Grover, Thalia, and Zoë from the Skeletons. Most likely the bronze he is made of is Celestial Bronze.

The satyr son of Mellie and Gleeson Hedge.

Circe
A Greek demigod, a daughter of Ares, the Greek god of war. She was the former head counselor of Ares' Cabin, before stepping down and giving the role to Sherman Yang. She is currently attending the University of Arizona and is the girlfriend of Chris Rodriguez, as of the end of The Battle of the Labyrinth.
Clarisse La Rue
A savage and formidable wild beast of which by no means should it be an enemy to be laughed at. Annabeth said no hero had ever defeated it before. Wild sow with wings.
Clazmonian Sow
A nymph who lives in a boulder near Narcissus' pond.
Cleopeia
One of the three divine personifications of destiny. They control the metaphorical thread of life for every living thing from birth to death.
Clotho
A Greek demigod son of Hypnos, and head counselor of Hypnos' Cabin.
Clovis
A giant created by Gaea to absorb and defeat all of Hecate's magic. He is one of the antagonists in The House of Hades. He can only be killed with fire.
Clytius
A king of Kamikos in Sicily. He had three beautiful daughters and allowed Daedalus to act as their tutor.
Cocalus
Bronze bulls the size of elephants either made by Hephaestus or coming from one of his forges, according to Annabeth Chase.
Colchis Bulls
A Greek demigod, a son of Hermes. He is the current head counselor of Hermes' Cabin as his older brother Travis Stoll has left to attend college.
Connor Stoll
A classmate of Percy Jackson's at Meriwether College Prep. He is the computer geek in Percy's class.
Corey Bailer
One of the three Hekatonkheires, also known as the Hundred-Handed Ones. Has faded.
Cottus
The Roman god of erotic love, affection, and desire. He is the lieutenant of his mother, Venus/Aphrodite. He is the frequent playmate of Hymenaios and Ganymede.
Cupid
A Greek demigod, the son of Athena and inventor of the Labyrinth. A genius ahead of his time, he was also one of the oldest known demigods, or simply the only adult one shown in the series who wasn't made immortal by the gods. He was a polymath, able to succeed at nearly anything he turned his hand toward. Also known as Quintus.
Daedalus
A Roman demigod son of Bacchus and the senior centurion of the Fifth Cohort. He enjoyed partying but knows when to be serious if the time calls for it. He died of zombie inflicted injuries sustained during the Battle of San Francisco Bay.
Dakota
A giant, son of Gaea and Tartarus, created to be the Bane of Ares/Mars, the God of War.
Damasen
The mother of Rachel Elizabeth Dare and the wife of Mr. Dare.
Mrs. Dare
A human born in 1964. In 1977, at the age of thirteen, he became trapped inside the Lotus Hotel and Casino.
Darrin
The Greek god of terror, panic and dread. His twin brother is Phobos. They are known for accompanying Ares into battle.
Deimos
The Greek god of Dolphins. He works in the service of Poseidon as one of his lieutenants.
Delphin
The Greek goddess of the harvest, grain, and fertility.
Demeter
The Greek god of grape-harvest, wine, orchards, fertility, madness, parties, religious ecstasy, and theater. He also serves as the camp director of Camp Half-Blood, having been placed there by his father Zeus as punishment for chasing after an off-limits nymph.
Dionysus
One of the Roman fauns who hangs around Camp Jupiter, often asking for spare change and food. He died of injuries sustained from staying to make sure the sabotage of the Julia Drusilla Yachts was successful and became a laurel sapling in death.
Don the Faun
One of the Amazons and becomes loyal to Otrera when she returns from the dead.
Doris
A Greek demigod, a daughter of Aphrodite, and the former senior counselor of the Aphrodite's Cabin at Camp Half-Blood. She attends Brooklyn Academy for the Gifted when not at Camp Half-Blood.
Drew Tanaka
A Ventus (or Storm Spirit) posing as a boy who is partners with Piper on the field trip from Wilderness School to the Grand Canyon and the Grand Canyon skywalk. He later reappears to attack the Argo II and is used by Jason Grace as a source of air underwater before learning who he is. He was born when Typhon was defeated by the gods in the Second Titan War.
Dylan
The river spirit of the East River and the rival of the Hudson River Spirit. He looks disturbingly like a Telekhine.
East River Spirit
The daughter of Gaea and Tartarus, and is referred to as the "mother of all Monsters" in Greek mythology. Typhon is her husband.
Echidna
An Oread, a mountain nymph, who loved to gossip, she also loved her own voice. She was fond of talking and always wanted to have the last word in all conversations. Whenever Zeus went to consort with the beautiful nymphs, she always distracted Hera with stories to detain the goddess until the nymphs made their escape.
Echo
The superintendent of the apartment where Gabe Ugliano, Sally Jackson, and Percy Jackson were living before the drastic events of The Lightning Thief. He was also a former friend of Gabe's, and he played poker with him often.
Eddie
A Greek demigod, a son of Ares, the Greek god of war. He was a notorious English pirate who operated around the West Indies and the Eastern coast of the American Colonies during the early 18th century. He was turned into a guinea pig by Circe.
Edward Teach/Blackbeard
A small, red-feathered, and skinny harpy. Her eidetic memory gives her the ability to memorize almost anything she reads. She read parts of the sacred Sibylline Books of Rome before they were destroyed and can recite the prophecies from the books, making her a very valuable person, especially to the Romans. The first full prophecy she recited in the series was about the third book, The Mark of Athena. She is currently in a relationship with Tyson, the Cyclops.
Ella
A Greek legacy of Poseidon, the descendant of Periclymenus, an Argonaut, and a lover of Mars. She was also the daughter of Grandma Zhang and the mother of Frank Zhang, one of the seven in the prophecy.
Emily Zhang
One of the Gigantes and one of the main antagonists in The Lost Hero, and one of the many secondary antagonists in The Blood of Olympus.
Enceladus/Enchiladas
A giant first created by Gaea to destroy the Olympian gods during the First Giant War. His twin brother is Otis, and they were created to be the banes of Dionysus/Bacchus.
Ephialtes
The name of the great black walls of Hades's kingdom, the Underworld and one of the primordial protogenos of Darkness and Mist.
Erebos
The Greek Goddess of chaos, discord, and strife.
Eris
A human Hispanic American mechanic and the mother of Greek demigod Leo Valdez, whom she had with Hephaestus. Esperanza was also the sister of Rosa Valdez.
Esperanza Valdez
A librarian at the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library.
Esther
A Greek demigod, the son of Nemesis and Mr. Nakamura. He joined the Titan Army in the Second Olympian War, but betrayed them and was killed by Kronos during the Battle of Manhattan.
Ethan Nakamura
The Greek god of Autumn and the East Wind, he is one of the Anemoi.
Eurus/Vulturnus
One of the three Gorgon sisters, the others being Medusa and Stheno. Despite having faded earlier, Gaea revived her.
Euryale
An Ithacan nobleman and one of the two leading suitors of Penelope, the other being Antinous. He appears in The Blood of Olympus.
Eurymachus
An immortal demigod, son of Ares and Erytheia. Owns a two headed dog.
Eurytion
A satyr and Grover Underwood's uncle. He was a searcher looking for Pan, the god of the wild, but was turned into a statue by Medusa, thus killing him.
Ferdinand Underwood
An automaton dragon created by the old Hephaestus cabin. With the blessing of their father, they made him many years before the series began to defend Camp Half-Blood, but he went haywire after Beckendorf's death as Beckendorf was his caretaker. He was eventually destroyed but acted as the Argo II's masthead. He was later rebuilt by Leo Valdez in secret to play a major role in the defeat of Gaea and continues to serve Leo afterwards.
Festus
A cloud nymph and an employee at Rainbow Organic Foods & Lifestyles. She works with Iris, the rainbow goddess.
Fleecy
A Roman demigod, the son of Mars and Emily Zhang, as well as a legacy of Poseidon and Chloris. He is one of the seven demigods mentioned in the Prophecy of Seven and is the current male Praetor of the Twelfth Legion Fulminata. He is currently in a relationship with Praetor Hazel Levesque.
Frank Zhang
The American and Military History professor at West Point. He is the mortal father of Greek demigod Annabeth Chase and her half-brothers, Bobby Chase and Matthew Chase, brother of Randolph and Natalie Chase, and husband of Mrs. Chase.
Frederick Chase
Percy Jackson's former disrespectful and abusive step-father in The Lightning Thief. He was petrified by Medusa's Head and sold as a statue titled 'The Poker Player' to an unknown museum.
Gabe Ugliano
The Greek primordial goddess of the Earth. She is the first being to have sprung forth from the void of Chaos. She is the main antagonist of The Heroes of Olympus series, being directly responsible for some of the major events in the series, such as the Second Giant War. Her current husband is the protogenos Tartarus, whom she conceived the Gigantes, and her former husband is Ouranos, whom she had the Titans.
Gaea
A polecat. She was once a human witch, but was turned into a polecat by the goddess Hecate. She appears in The House of Hades as a pet of Hecate.
Gale
A prince of Troy, son of King Tros and Queen Callirrhoe. He was a very attractive legacy, which led Zeus to abduct him in the form of an eagle, to serve as cupbearer to the gods, replacing Hebe, the goddess of youth. He subsequently became the Greek god of homosexual love and desire, and is a frequent playmate of Cupid and Hymenaios.
Ganymede
A snake that was caught by Hermes. He is immortal, though he is not a Monster. Demigods and gods can hear him in their heads. He is always seen with his female counterpart Martha
George
The Greek god of old age. He is the son of Nyx.
Geras
The son of Chrysaor and Callirrhoe and is the grandson of Medusa. He was a fearsome giant who dwelt on the island Erytheia of the mythic Hesperides in the far west of the Mediterranean. A more literal-minded later generation of Greeks associated the region with Tartessos in southern Iberia.
Geryon
A generous, miniature, and pink poodle. He ran away from his home before the events of The Lightning Thief, but he was later found by the satyr Grover Underwood. He then agreed to be returned to his owner as a favor to Grover.
Gladiola
A middle aged satyr that was formerly filling as a coach at the Wilderness School. He was the protector of Piper McLean, Jason Grace, Leo Valdez, and Clarisse La Rue. He is also the husband of Mellie, a cloud nymph and the father of their son, Chuck Hedge.
Coach Gleeson Hedge
A teacher at Westover Hall.
Ms. Gottschalk
The mother of Emily Zhang and the grandmother of Frank Zhang. She lived in the Zhang Mansion in Canada for most of her life until it was destroyed. She is a descendant of Periclymenus the Argonaut.
Grandma Zhang
A spartus that could be summoned by Roman demigod Frank Zhang in The Son of Neptune. He is similar to the spartoi that appear in The Titan's Curse.
Gray
A satyr and a Lord of the Wild, along with Silenus and Maron. He is also a Chosen of Pan, and is carrying the soul of Pan. He is the satyr who found the demigods Thalia Grace, Nico and Bianca di Angelo, Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase, and Luke Castellan. He is currently in a relationship with Juniper the dryad.
Grover Underwood
A Pegasus and a friend of Blackjack and Porkpie. Following the Battle of Half-Blood Hill, he adopts Reyna Ramírez-Arellano as his human.
Guido
A Roman demigod or legacy who is a former centurion of the Fifth Cohort.
Gwendolyn
One of the three Hekatonkheires. He has faded.
