This stone was used most often by the King in the north, and was preserved in the capital city of Arnor. The stone was saved when the city was overrun by Angmar's forces.
Elostirion
The Elendil Stone. It was aligned westwards towards the Master-stone in the Tower of Avallonë
Amon Sûl
This stone was removed when it's resting place was burned and destroyed by forces from Angmar.
Fornost
The new resting place of the stone above.
Osgiliath
The largest stone among the seven. It was placed in the capital city of the kingdom of Gondor.
Minas Ithil
This stone stood in Isildur's ancient fortress, but was was captured by the Nazgûl in T.A. 2002.
Barad-dûr
The above stone was taken here and used by the dark lord.
Minas Tirith
The stone in this place was kept as an unused secret by the Ruling Stewards of Gondor until Denethor II.
Orthanc
The stone in this place was forgotten by the stewards. It was later used by Saruman, Pippin and Aragorn.
