well... green (bell) peppers are the most common probably... but red peppers, yellow (sweet/banana) peppers, jalapeno peppers, black pepper, and pepperoncini are all most common pizza toppings than broccoli or artichokes I would say... so maybe it is fair to require the distinction.
Agree with everyone else... broccoli and artichokes?????????? wtf? Ham and pineapple definitely above those two, even anchovies. I've seen ground beef on pizza, bacon, diced tomatoes, sundried tomatoes, jalapenos, ketchup, mustard, corn, potatoes, clams, carmelized apples, squid, sweet potatoes, celery, pepperoncini, red pepper, banana peppers, cumen, shewarma, tandoori chicken, buffalo chicken, jerky, macaroni, nacho cheese... but I don't think I've ever seen broccoli and I might have seen artichokes once. This list is either wrong, or it is based on a very narrow area or maybe one restaurant somewhere that doesn't offer ham or pineapple.
and this interesting article:///// http://recipes.howstuffworks.com/fresh-ideas/dinner-food-facts/favorite-pizza-toppings-in-10-countries.htm //////// lists everything from eel to coconut and pickled ginger. But neither article makes any mention of broccoli or artichokes. :P shenanigans! haha..
Maybe it depends on where in the world you live, but in Toronto I would certainly consider broccoli to be a common favourite, though not nearly as ubiquitous as bacon and pineapple. I was able to guess artichoke because it happens to be a topping on my personal favourite pizza.
Tomato sauce or garlic sauce aren't really toppings, They are what you put the toppings on. But dried tomatoes are a topping on some pizzas. Broccoli???
I've never even seen Artichoke or Broccoli on a Pizza.
