I started to make a 18th Century one but... there's just not enough good material. All the inbred European monarchs had the same names. George, Philip, Louis, William, Peter, Catherine, Frederick... it gets a little boring. and outside of Europe not much going on that anyone knows about.. other than Washington and Adams right at the end of the century. There are more notable philosophers in the century than heads of state.
I know. Close enough. And he was already active in politics and a leader of sorts before his first presidential inaugural.
About transliterations... I try to be accommodating when I can. Doesn't seem right that some names are so commonly translated into English equivalents (Nikolai becoming Nicholas, etc), when other times they are not (nobody calls Charlemagne Charles the Great, or Francisco Franco Francis).
I was just about to make such a quiz but checked and found nothing to improve on this one. Good variety overall. I might've ditched Teddy for Disraeli, Gladstone, Napoleon III. or Andrew Jackson but I see your reasoning. Nominated.
Thanks. I think that I had come up with several ways to improve this one... but... no... I guess I am thinking of my World Leaders from Antiquity quiz... that one had room for improvement or at least expansion and I had many ideas for it but never implemented them.
As for Roosevelt, 1901 was already the 20th century.

I've been meaning to expand on this quiz for years. If I ever get around to it I will look into it. Thanks.
