The US interstate system is set up so that odd numbered interstates run north-south and are numbered from east to west. I-5 runs along the west coast, and 1-95 runs along the east. But I think that would be hard for non-Americans to know that. I certainly have no idea where, say, the M-1 in the UK goes.
And I-95 is maybe the most famous of the interstates- it's the one that runs along the east coast, connecting Miami, Jacksonville, Washington, Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York, and Boston, among other major and minor cities.
