You should also accept NIDDM (non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus) and IDDM (insulin dependent diabetes mellitus), which are the more accepted versions of type 1 and type 2 diabetes

There is another type of diabetes now, Type 1.5 or LADA. (Latent autoimmune diabetes of adults.)
