Geography Snap Statistics (February 2023) : The New Game Modes

As many of you know by now, there is a leaderboard in every game mode of Geography Snap. More precisely, the 5 fastest players per day, per week and since the beginning of Geography Snap (not really, more like since 26th October 2020 for the 45 old game modes, and since November 21st for the 144 new ones). Well, the player Changedaworld invented a points system according to the rank of a player in the All-Time leaderboard. Here it is :

1^st place : 7 points

2^nd place : 5 points

3^rd place : 3 points

4^th place : 2 points

5^th place : 1 point

So, here is a leaderboard for all 189 game modes, for February 2023 :

Only one player got into the leaderboard this month : BI, who still managed to get almost 200 points ! I have to express my congrats for that accomplishment. Sadly, 6 players got ousted : manuelordonez, MATHIAS1, Nedpet, nerfed, nios, Silcky97 & zWallaby.

The player who's the 1^st in the most categories is... Changedaworld, being first in 137 game modes.

The player who's the 2^nd in the most categories is... SilverDog, being second in 96 game modes.

The player who's the 3^rd in the most categories is... Dagod, being third in 108 game modes.

The player who's the ^4th in the most categories is... BI, being fourth in 47 game modes.

The player who's the 5^th in the most categories is... boepnx77 too, being fifth in 47 game modes.

There are no remaining game modes without a 5th place !

The greatest gap between 2 consecutive players in an Easy game mode is 4,3 seconds, between boepnx77's 7,6 seconds and Mred2025's 11,3 seconds, in Capitals, Flag-Shapes & Shapes Easy.

The greatest gap between 2 consecutive players in a Medium game mode is 16,5 seconds, between boepnx77's 16,0 seconds and Mred2025's 32,5 seconds, in Flag-Shapes, Shapes & Biggest Cities Medium.

The greatest gap between 2 consecutive players in a Hard game mode is 8,7 seconds, between SilverDog's 18,4 seconds and BI's 27,1 seconds, in Flags, Flag-Shapes, Shapes & Biggest Cities Hard.

The first one is between Changedaworld's 3,6 seconds and Sammyboi's 5,4 seconds in Flags & Biggest Cities Easy, and the second one is between Changedaworld's 5,6 seconds and Sammyboi's 7,4 seconds in Capitals, Flag-Shapes, Shapes & Biggest Cities Easy.

The smallest gap between the 1^st and the 5^th in a new Medium game mode is 3,3 seconds, in 2 game modes again. The first one is between Changedaworld's 10,5 seconds and BI's 13,8 seconds in Capitals, Flags & Biggest Cities Medium, and the second one is between Dagod's 12,2 seconds and boepnx77's 15,5 seconds in Countries, Capitals, Flag-Shapes & Shapes Medium.

The smallest gap between the 1^st and the 5^th in a new Hard game mode is 3,8 seconds, between Dagod's 27,1 seconds and emma21's 30,9 seconds, in Countries & Biggest Cities Hard.

The World Record that has been the most improved during February is the Countries, Capitals & Biggest Cities Hard game mode, where it has been improved from 29,7 seconds to 21,5 seconds ! That's 8,2 seconds that were cut off !

The game mode where the sum of every time in the All-Time top 5 has been the most improved is Capitals, Flags, Shapes & Biggest Cities Hard, where a whopping 32,2 seconds have been taken off !

The game mode where the sum of every time in the All-Time top 5 has been the most increased is Flags, Flag-Shapes & Biggest Cities Hard, where 14,3 seconds were added (well it's the only game mode like that anyway) !

If we add every time in every All-Time top 5, we get to... 11782,0 seconds, or 3 hours, 16 minutes and 22 seconds. That's 15 minutes and 19,4 seconds that were sort of cut off during February ! I say "sort of" again again, because while 15 minutes and 44,1 seconds were actually cut off during February, 24,7 seconds where added, because of one empty leaderboard spot (don't worry, this is the last time it'll happen). And if we only take the time of the 1^st in every All-Time, we get to 1741,1 seconds, or 29 minutes and 1,1 seconds. That's 1 minute and 9,4 seconds that were cut off during February !

In conclusion, this month has been very good ! Like in January, a lot of time saves were done everywhere, but also, the game felt much more organized now that a few months have passed since the update, so the leaderboards are progressively becoming more and more specialized, and making this blog revealed some mind-boggling but interesting patterns about the game !
