The Country of Costa Rica is a good place, despite all the hate and high crime rates, the country is a France Of Central America, it has very pretty beaches, good people (most of the time) BUT, the downside is, there is so much crime.

The Country of Costa Rica is hated for 1 thing, CRIME! The crime rates in Costa Rica are super high,  in fact the 2nd highest crime rate in both the americas, right behind Venezuela with 69.87 murders per 100,000 people. Costa Rica crime is at 59.16 per 100,000. In San JoseI did get scammed…3 times. The Scam rate is the highest in the world. At 652 people every week getting scammed of the internet alone, Venezuela is only at 163 for the record.

In Costa Rica you can easily get scammed, no matter if your buying shoes or a snow cone in San Jose, it is very easy to get scammed, one common way to get scammed is by buying something that seems overpriced, say you are buying a 3 dollar snow cone in America, in Costa Rica, they use the same thing but for around 5 dollars, they also drag people to tip for unnecessary stuff like a snow cone.
