I've never heard of Biltong, Poi, Lutfisk, Haggis, or Poutine. You can't meet an Australian without getting offered Vegemite.

I know pierogi because my ex was polish and his mam made epic peirogi... that was the best thing but meh... the rest i knew from my travels.. biltong truly is the best - one of the reasons i'd never be a vegetarian!

Could marmite also be an answer for "Australian sandwich spread, made from yeast extract"? Both marmite and vegemite are made from yeast extracts. Is it a difference in how they are eaten? Would love to know!!
Quizmaster replies:
Vegemite is distinctively Australian, marmite isn't.

Actually, "sushi" just means "vinegared rice". There is no requirement of fish (raw or otherwise). It can have al sorts of ingredients, but the only ingredient neccesary for it to be called "sushi" is rice.
