Thanks! I still like 8 as that inlcludes 'notable' players like Rivaldo and Maradona, but none of the 7-goal players is a big name. Of course maybe that would make it too easy (said the guy who could not come up with Klinsmann).
Saw there were no Americans so didn't guess Donovan. Got Pele and Ronaldo. Then got Muller and Muller because I knew it was the most common last name in Germany. Then I quit.
Damn nice quiz, I'm pissed cause I am brazilian and couldn't get Ademir, the name Aldair kept coming to my head but I just couldn't get his name right, but 25/35 is allright
Crap, I forgot about the 3rd place game. It seems weird that Kane will probably win the Golden Boot considering that 3 of his 6 goals were penalties and one was a completely accidental deflection.
Check all the others in this list, you will find many penalties and deflections, that is the game. A goal is just as good as any other if it counts (unless it is a cheaters goal such as Maradona's cheating goal)
I must have tried every single possibly combination for the answer to Portugal 1966, bar the correct one and those type ins you allow. Bloody frustrating.
I got Pele and that's better than only 0.7% of quiz takers?? Come on, Americans. Show the world we know nothing about these people who might be the one to finish a game 1-0 in 2 hours.
Gerd Muller is one of only a handful of players to score more than a game a goal at international level. At the moment Battistuta is the only player to score a hat-trick in two separate World Cups.
2006: A deflected free-kick and a penalty vs Ukraine.
Then another penalty against France.
2010: A superb solo effort against Honduras, followed by another deflected effort from range. A cracker against Chile, one against Portugal, one off both posts against Paraguay.
Pretty good chance that Mbappe will eventually be number 1 on here, perhaps as soon as the next World Cup. The fact that he already has the same number as Pele in half the number of World Cups is astounding.
The fact that he scored 12 goals in 2 World Cups is astounding. The fact that Just Fontaine scored 13 in a single World Cup (even for the time) is easily as impressive and keeps Mbappe from being France's all time World Cup goalscorer for now.
Then another penalty against France.
2010: A superb solo effort against Honduras, followed by another deflected effort from range. A cracker against Chile, one against Portugal, one off both posts against Paraguay.
2014: A clever flick against Australia.
