all info according to Wikipedia, working from incomplete data. Some countries may be excluded.
Afghanistan, Syria, and Iraq are among those countries not included in the data. Presumably countries in an active state of war would make such a list, but it's also hard to get reliable data from those countries.
Ah ha... caught you! US no 11 huh? :) Selective editing? And where was Australia? I demand to see Australia in all of your quizzes!!!! LOL... I'm just kidding, of course.
Australia is #52, placing them around the middle of the pack. So it wouldn't make sense to include them on any quiz about gun-deaths either at the high end or the low end. But, you are right that choosing to cap the list at top 10 was a bit of selective editing on my part. ;-) nice catch. and I'll openly admit to it.
The Wikipedia page is a little confusing. If you sort the data by "total firearm-related death rate" the USA is 11th. If you sort by "order" then it is 19th. I'm not sure what "order" means. It seems to correspond roughly to the figures in the next column, but definitely it does not correspond perfectly. ::shrug::
Also, it's not *that* tough. Pretty easy pattern. Just guess South Africa and Swaziland, which shouldn't be hard, and then guess every country in Central America, and from there work your way south and east to South America and the Caribbean and you should pick up everything before time runs out.
Oz and I both were taking and commenting on a lot of quizzes back in 2013. We clashed mostly because it seemed like Oz's chief mission here was to bash Americans and America and I called him out on this numerous times. He eventually stopped coming.
Oz isn't on the site to respond anymore, but while he was here he frequently shared with us the fact that he had some remarkably distorted views on the world and some other countries. I have no idea why he thought Uzbekistan should have made the cut.
I didn’t enjoy this quiz particularly as I do not think this is accurate however if the answers are checked again and possibly updated that would make it quite good. :)
