#4: Mount Paektu (Korean name) is apparently really, really important in Korean culture. It is mentioned in both Koreas' national anthems and North Korean propaganda declares it to be the birth place of Kim jong-il, although this is likely untrue. But even the Manchu family that ruled China as the Qing dynasty until 1911 claimed to have originated around Mount Changbai (as it is known in Chinese).
Changbai (Long White) or Paektu (White Head) Mountain is also famous for its ginseng. There's also a phrase "white mountain and black river", referring to the mountain and the Amur river (or Black Dragon River/Heilongjiang in Chinese)
Thanks a lot for providing this fact :) . And since Jilin is a major producer of ginseng, and I already stumbled upon the fact that the region is said to be a center of traditional medicine, I added ginseng to the quiz.
