Hi. Guyana and Suriname are not in Southwest half-hemisphere although they are part of South America. These countries are in Northwest.

What about countries that straddle the border? If you're looking at populations of a country within a hemisphere, then you might get some surprising answers. I'm pretty sure the island of Principe is only about 5,000 people, so that would easily qualify for the Northwest. The population of Colombia south of the equator is also certainly smaller.
